This romantic retreat for two is set in the quaint location of Lawnhead, on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border. The lodge is the perfect base for keen walkers and bikers, with some beautiful routes branching away through the surrounding countryside. You’ll also find fascinating tracks and trails to explore through the wetlands of Loynton Moss Nature Reserve (3.5 miles). The charming villages of Eccleshall (3 miles) and Gnosall by the canal (3 miles), boasts several country pubs to refuel in after a long walk. Trentham Estate (13 miles) makes a great afternoon out – wander through the stunning floral displays and ancient woodlands before picking up souvenirs at the outdoor shopping village. The county town of Stafford (6.5 miles) is renowned for its striking Tudor architecture and historic buildings, including a 900-year-old castle, as well as its excellent independent shops and eateries.

The detached lodge sits within the grounds of the owner’s home and has a studio-style layout with a high ceiling, exposed trusses, and plenty of natural light. In one corner you’ll find a rustic, country-style kitchen area for preparing romantic dinners for two, which you can share at the wooden dining table. In the evenings, get cosy on the plump sofa to watch a film on the Smart TV or read a few pages from your book. When the day is done, sink into the sumptuous double bed for a good night’s sleep. Completing the interior, a sliding door leads to a separate, refreshing shower room.

Outside, the leafy garden has a choice of areas for rest and relaxation, including a bistro table for al fresco dining, and a hammock for chilling out amongst the trees.
