Port Isaac (13 miles), known for its charming cottages and Doc Martin fame, makes for a lovely afternoon wander. Boscastle (6 miles) and Tintagel (7.5 miles) are also close by, with Tintagel Castle bringing King Arthur’s legends to life for children and grown-ups alike. Bodmin Moor is 2.5 miles away and boasts miles of wild, open countryside for family hikes and wildlife watching. For watery thrills, Tamar Lakes (20 miles) is a hit with families, with everything from paddleboarding and kayaking to safe spots for picnics and nature walks.
