Enjoy the best of both worlds in this welcoming property, set in the peaceful village of Little Clacton but just 2.5 miles from the colourful attractions of the bustling seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea. The village of Thorpe-Le-soken is accessible on foot using the bridal way and has several family friendly restaurants or for a day of relaxation visit Lifehouse Spa. Neighbouring Clacton’s wealth of traditional attractions includes golden beaches on either side of the pleasure pier, arcades, water sports and walks along the seafront promenade. Enjoy an ice cream aboard the little summer train that runs a mile along the coast to Holland-on-Sea. Frinton-on-Sea (6 miles) has a charming period atmosphere, with a beautiful esplanade, perfect for a leisurely stroll, grass-topped cliffs and Victorian-style painted beach huts. Hunt for fossils on the beach at Walton-on-the-Naze (6.5 miles) and from here, take a wildlife boat trip around the Hamford Water Reserve with a chance of spotting seals and rich bird life.

Walk directly into the bright and spacious open-plan living space of this cosy cottage and be struck by the home-from-home atmosphere. The interior features soft, neutral shades throughout, with a comfortable sofa and easy chairs in the lounge area. Light the wood burner, watch the Smart TV or just sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet. The country dining table for six has a pretty checked tablecloth, while the well-planned kitchen has masses of space and equipment for cooking enthusiasts to get to work. This floor also houses a utility room with a WC and washing machine. Upstairs you’ll find a family bathroom with a shower over the bath, plus a WC, and three charming bedrooms. These comprise a king-size, a zip-and-link double which can be made into two singles, and a separate single.

Doors from the living space open onto the large garden, with patio furniture and tranquil rural views. This a lovely spot for morning tea and evening suppers. Private parking for 2 cars.

We had a fantastic time at the cottage. The cottage is situated in a perfect rural location, on one hand you have the benefits of the countryside - the peace and tranquillity, and yet its only a 10min (literally) drive from the seaside, with sandy beaches and fun attractions for all ages. The cottage itself is perfect with all the necessities you cRead morean think of, its spacious and exceptionally clean, Hannah bought over some toys for the kids to play in the garden which they thoroughly enjoyed. Overall we had a beautiful time and couldn't have asked for better. Would HIGHLY recommend this cottage. Hide

We had a lovely week in the beautiful Lodge Farm cottage. The rural location was perfect for a peaceful break but close enough to enjoy all the surrounding seaside towns. The cottage truly felt like a home from home. It was extremely comfortable, clean and welcoming with everything we needed. Highly recommend and we'd definitely visit again.
