A bright and light-filled holiday property for up to four guests, this stunning hideaway is a perfect base for couples and smaller families exploring the vibrant city of Bath. Overlooking the picturesque Kennet and Avon Canal, the fresh and relaxing Scandi-style home makes a great base for exploring the area’s historic waterways, hiring narrow boats or enjoying long walks along the towpath into the country and towards the Saxon-era town of Bradford-on-Avon (7 miles). The property lies at the heart of Widcombe, a friendly district with a wealth of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, just half a mile south of Bath itself. The city centre is less than a mile away, with historic landmarks including the Assembly Rooms, the Pump Room, the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey, alongside venues and attractions such as the Jane Austen Centre, the Theatre Royal and Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein.
Entering the property, head up the stairs to the light and welcoming galley-style kitchen/diner which has a range of useful equipment and a charming central dining table. A flight of six stairs leads up to a fresh, bright and airy lounge where you will find ample seating and a TV, with light streaming in through the skylights in the vaulted and beamed ceiling. The two bedrooms are on the lower floors: one room can be made up as a twin or super-king-size and has a sleek en-suite bathroom with a bath and a walk-in shower. On the ground floor, there’s a pretty bedroom with a stylish king-size four-poster bed and an en-suite shower room.
Back outside, there’s a parking space for one car and easy access onto the canal towpath, making a lovely spot for a quiet walk in the morning. At the property, a couple of steps lead from the lounge to a glass apex door which opens out onto a sweet balcony with seating, providing a lovely spot to sit out and watch the comings and goings at the Wash House Lock.
