Lying within the Cotswolds National Landscape, the sleepy rural village of Combe Hay offers many scenic tracks and trails to explore on foot or two wheels, with lovely country pubs to uncover on the route. Soak up the history and heritage of the local area in the world-famous city of Bath 3.5 miles away, home to the ancient Roman Baths (3.5 miles) and Thermae Bath Spa (3.5 miles), which boasts the only natural thermal hot springs in Britain you can bathe in. Enjoy a fun-filled family day out at Longleat Safari Park 17.5 miles away or uncover the postcard-perfect beauty of the Somerset countryside at Castle Combe 17 miles away.

Beneath the honey-coloured stone, you’ll find a haven of period charm and homely touches in this fantastic former farmhouse. At the heart of this home-from-home, the grand drawing room beckons tired travellers to unwind beside the roaring open fire beneath the beautiful skylight; before sundown, throw open the patio doors to relax amongst the whistle of the evening breeze. Perfectly complimenting the rustic features, the spacious sitting room offers a haven of sophistication to retire to, whilst the snug/bar room provides the perfect peaceful spot to enjoy a glass of something chilled. Combining classic travertine stone tile flooring with stylish design, the spacious kitchen will inspire you to get creative, with the adjoining breakfast room offering the perfect spot to enjoy your efforts. Gather the whole gang in the light and bright orangery to dine beneath the stars framed by the spectacular lantern skylight. You’ll also find a handy utility room on the ground floor. Across the first and second floor, there are seven bedrooms that all share the same charm and character as the ground floor; two en-suite super-king-size bedrooms with walk-in dressing rooms, three twin zip-and-link bedrooms (which can be made up as super-king-sizes) and two double bedrooms. Tucked beneath the eaves on the second floor, two contemporary family bathrooms provide everything you need to feel refreshed from sunrise to sunset.

Across the courtyard, let off some steam in the games room before enjoying a game of table tennis beneath the shelter of the carport. Outside, a haven of tranquillity awaits in the extensive grounds; dine alfresco on a Mediterranean-style terrace, stroll the formal walled gardens to admire the wisteria and climbing roses, unwind between the yew trees to the apple orchard or enjoy a game of football on the large field. Beautiful house and surroundings. The bedrooms and bathrooms were luxurious and there were plenty of spaces to sit together and eat / play games. We were sad to leave and would love to come back!

An amazing property, in a secluded location whilst also being very near to the great city of Bath with all its amenities and attractions. Our only misgiving was that we didnt stay longer!

Fortnight Farm House was as beautiful as the pictures show and the perfect place to hold a family weekend for my mother's 91st birthday. The bedrooms were all very comfortable, the bathrooms were well appointed and the living / dining rooms gave us plenty of room to dine and relax. The kitchen was a great space to cook in but could have done with Read moremore saucepans and the oven was really dirty. It could also have been stocked with a better supply of essentials like salt, pepper, oil, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. We would return again as the proximity to Bath and a 15 minute walk to the excellent local pub make this house a super place for any occasion. Hide
