This welcoming holiday cottage sits in the coastal Dorset village of Chideock. Sleeping four guests, the property suits families, friends and couples looking to explore West Dorset’s spectacular beaches and dramatic coast paths, with Seatown Beach just 1 mile away accessible via a footpath or car. This unspoiled beach is the perfect spot for a relaxing morning walk, swim, or fishing, to name just a few activities. Refuel at The Anchor Inn pub, with it's seasonal menus made with local produce and woodfired oven offering take away pizzas to eat on the beach. You’ll also be within easy reach of other much-loved Dorset beaches such as West Bay (4 miles) and Lyme Regis (7 miles) which offer independent shops, amusements and harbourside walks. For those wanting to warm up after a dip in the sea, Seatown, West Bay and Lyme Regis all have woodfired saunas available to book on the beach. For days out without the car, hop on the 'Jurassic Coaster' local bus service which connects Chideock to Weymouth, Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis. Chideock is a fantastic base for walkers, with routes branching away from the village along the South West Coast Path and through the surrounding countryside, as well as a new footpath to Symondsbury with its estate restaurant and shop, and market town of Bridport.

Inside, the ground floor has a bright, open-plan layout with a striking, beamed ceiling and patio doors leading to the garden. After a day at the coast, relax in here, stretched out on the L-shaped sofa as you watch the Smart TV, or share a family meal at the wooden dining table. The kitchen area has everything needed for a self-catered break, and completing this room is a cosy wood burner for those chilly winter evenings. Heading upstairs to the first floor, you’ll find a delightful twin bedroom with wooden floors and whitewashed stone walls. This floor also has a handy WC. The second bedroom is an inviting double located on the second floor, with a vaulted ceiling, exposed trusses, and skylights. The family bathroom completes this floor. Please note, the cottage has characterful low ceilings and exposed beams, and you may experience restricted head height in some areas.

Outside, a sunny patio garden awaits, with furniture for al fresco dining. This space is fully enclosed, making it ideal for children and four-pawed guests. You’ll also have access to a shed with a tumble dryer and space to store bikes and beach gear. The property has private parking for two cars.

A very comfortable, quiet cottage.....I say quiet because it is just off the very busy main road sadly going through the village but you couldn't hear the traffic at all......turning right out of the drive takes you into the heart of the village and the Anchor pub at the end of the lane in Seatown is a must visit! The cottage contained everything Read morewe needed for our long weekend visit......tea/coffee/sugar/condiments/biscuits/milk were all a welcome surprise. The kitchen has everything you need to create meals or just warm something up in the microwave. The beds were comfortable, the water hot. If you are a TV watcher remember your various passwords for extra tv channels......The cottage is on 3 floors so agility is a must! We loved our stay, not only in the village, but in the beautiful surrounding area - so many places to visit in easy reach....and do climb Golden Cap - beautiful views. Hide

What a spectacular find. This cottage is a beautiful little gem that is clearly loved and maintained to an exceptionally high standard. From top to bottom, everything you could possibly need is provided. It felt like a home away from home. Im already planning my next visit, though I have a feeling I'll have to book early to beat the crowds!
