Bursting with charm, this homely cottage boasting a wonderful, enclosed garden nestled in the heart of Hay-on-Wye is the perfect base to explore everything that Powys and Herefordshire has to offer. The quaint market town of Hay-on-Wye is famed for its bookshops and together with the stunning scenery of the River Wye, offers opportunities for canoeing and plenty of picnic spots beside the river. Explore Hay-on-Wye’s myriad new and second-hand bookshops, unique local shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants, or the weekly farmers' market, which showcases some of the area’s best seasonal local produce and crafts. From Hay-on-Wye, keen walkers can join wonderful walks including Offa's Dyke at the foot of the Black Mountains and the Wye Valley Walk, cyclists can enjoy mountain biking, whilst those who love life on the water can hire canoes locally or find a range of other water sports at Llangorse Lake 13 miles away.

Flooded with ample natural sunlight from a set of patio doors leading to the garden, the contemporary kitchen radiates style and sophistication, equipped with everything needed to enjoy culinary creativity. Upstairs, you’ll find two light and airy double bedrooms that offer a sanctuary of serenity to retreat to at the end of a long day’s exploration. The contemporary family bathroom upstairs provides everything necessary to feel revitalised from sunrise to sunset.

Outside, the lower level patio is a beautiful suntrap, the perfect spot for your morning coffee. The enclosed garden features a lawn, some lush mature planting, and a raised patio, ideal for a glass of something chilled at sundown. 

Parking is available on the street outside the cottage for an hour, and there are several long-stay car parks close by.

We had a lovely week in Bookend Cottage. We loved exploring Hay-on -Wye and the cottage was clean and comfortable.
