Join friends and family for a countryside escape in this gorgeous holiday home in the North Yorkshire village of Cawton. The characterful property welcomes eight guests across four bedrooms and has a choice of spaces both indoors and outside for socialising and spending time together. Cawton is surrounded by spectacular countryside, full of walking trails to explore, such as the long-distance Ebor Way. Enjoy relaxing strolls along quiet, country lanes and footpaths to neighbouring villages, including Gilling East and Hovingham, where you’ll find friendly village pubs to refuel in before the walk home. The picture-postcard market town of Helmsley is just 7 miles away and is the ideal place to pick up a little souvenir from your trip, thanks to its plethora of independent boutiques and gift shops. Other day trips include the ancient city of York, the National Trust’s Nunnington Hall, and the family theme park at Flamingo Land (all within 20 miles).
The stone barn conversion enjoys a peaceful, rural setting, alongside a working farm. At the heart of the home is a vast, light-filled living area with a vaulted ceiling, exposed trusses, and a beautiful flagstone floor. This is the perfect place for spending quality time together, sharing mealtimes at the large dining table, playing board games or pool, or watching a movie around the Smart TV in the inviting lounge area. Nestled in one corner is a fabulous kitchen, with everything needed to cater for a large group. For a little moment of quiet, take yourself off to the cosy snug, where a roaring wood burner awaits, along with a second Smart TV. Rounding off the ground floor is a small double bedroom with glass doors opening onto the patio. The remaining bedrooms are upstairs: two king-size and a twin, and all feature fabulous wooden furniture, neutral decor, and plush linens for a good night’s sleep. The twin bedroom has a handy en-suite shower room for your convenience (please note that these two rooms have sloping ceilings, and you may experience restricted head height in some areas). Completing the first floor is a refreshing family bathroom.
Outside, soak up the sunshine and enjoy an al fresco meal in one of the two enclosed patio areas. There’s also a small lawn area where children and dogs can play. The property has private parking for three cars.
