It’s less than 1 mile to an 18-hole golf course, and only 2 miles to the ruins of 13th century Kendal Castle, from which there are stunning views. For beach lovers, unspoilt, sandy Silverdale Beach is just 16 miles, while for history buffs the National Trust’s Sizergh is 7 miles. Take the little ones to Lakeland Maze Farm Park, 7.5 miles, and head into the Lake District National Park for incredible scenery and the don’t-miss destination of Lake Windermere, 10 miles.
Take the stone steps at the front of the cottage that lead up to the garden and the front door. Inside, you’ll find carefully coordinated decor that makes the most of pale colours and natural tones for a wonderfully tranquil feel. The light and bright lounge has a wooden floor and comfortable seating gathered around a wood-burner-effect gas fire and a Smart TV. Snuggle on the sofa and spend hours gazing out at the extraordinary views through the bay window. The kitchen/diner has a similarly spacious and airy atmosphere, and includes everything the cook of the holiday will need to prep delicious meals, plus plenty of storage and stunning slate worktops. A small utility room leads off the kitchen. When you’re ready for bed, head up the cottage-style stairs to find two beautiful bedrooms, both double and boasting ample storage, one with gorgeous views over the town to the hillsides, plus an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom looks out over the pretty garden, and has use of a fabulous bathroom with a roll-top bath.
From the French doors in the kitchen you can step into the beautiful garden, which has a patio where you can enjoy drinks and dining al fresco as you admire the terraced planting, with stone steps leading to a small lawn on a higher level. As for parking, there is space for two cars on the road outside the house, on a first come, first served basis.
