This characterful holiday home is in the rural village of Burtersett, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The property sleeps eight guests and is the perfect base for large families and groups of friends who adore getting out and about in nature. The surrounding area is awash with walking and cycling trails to explore, including the long-distance Pennine Way and the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway. You’ll be within easy reach of some of Yorkshire’s top beauty spots, such as Hardraw Force (3 miles) and Aysgarth Falls (9 miles). For history lovers, a visit to the 14th-century Bolton Castle is a must (12 miles). The vibrant market town of Hawes is just 1 mile away, with its cobbled streets, historic buildings, and quirky collection of independent shops. The town also has some excellent restaurants, and is home to the Wensleydale Creamery, where you can sample the famous local cheese.

The barn conversion still retains many of its original features, such as exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings. Traditional furniture and pretty fabrics add to the rustic charm, and many of the rooms enjoy far-reaching views across the Dales. Enter the property into the handy boot/utility room, where you can store all your outdoor attire. From here, move through to the spacious, country-style kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up feasts for the group to enjoy at the dining table or around the central island. Just off the kitchen is a breakfast room, providing an alternative dining spot or a quiet space to read a book or plan the day’s activities. The inviting lounge boasts dual aspect windows and has a cosy wood burner for those chilly winter nights. Relax in here, after an action-packed day, to chat with friends or watch a movie on the Smart TV. Upstairs, four delightful, country cottage-style bedrooms await. The first is a super-king-size with a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom, the second is another gorgeous super-king-size with fabulous original features, and the third is an elegant king-size bedroom. There is also a cosy double bedroom on this level. A family bathroom rounds off this wonderful countryside retreat.

Outside, the enclosed garden enjoys tranquil views across the Yorkshire Dales. There is a sunny patio with furniture and a BBQ – the perfect place for al fresco entertaining – as well as a large lawn for playing outdoor games. The property has ample private parking.

The beautiful Hillary Hall Barn had been restored to a really high standard. It was immaculately clean, with lots of attention to detail, welcome pack on arrival was very much enjoyed and appreciated, also the beautiful utensils (specifically the Emma Bridgwater selection of mugs!) and pots and pans etc seemed also really good quality too. The chilRead moredren loved their stay too, it was of much excitement to them that they had a Tv in their room too! What luxury! Recommend to anyone. Our dog also loved it too! Hide
