Perfectly situated for the world-renowned Jurassic Coast and with views over the beautiful Axe valley and down to the sea, the cottage is less than a mile from the village of Kilmington. Kilmington boasts a local pub serving food and a farm shop selling local produce. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's wonderful River Cottage HQ restaurant and cookery school is just across the Axe valley. Nearby Axminster (3 miles) has a weekly market and a variety of shops. Alternatively, head to the picturesque seaside towns along the South West Coast. Beer and Lyme Regis are both a short (8 mile) drive, or spend an afternoon exploring the Axe Estuary Nature Reserve. Other attractions and places of interest accessible from here include Abbotsbury Swannery (24 miles), Bicton Park (18 miles), the cathedral city of Exeter (23 miles) and numerous National Trust properties.

This fabulous property has been lovingly hand crafted in a sustainable way using local materials. It offers a truly different yet comfortable base for a relaxed holiday and is perfectly placed for touring the whole of East Devon and both coast and country. Step inside this unique property through a set of French doors. The cosy and welcoming lounge has comfortable seating arranged around a warming wood burner and a Smart TV. It’s a lovely place to relax after a busy day exploring. A set of French doors from the beautiful kitchen/diner leads outside so that you can dine alfresco in warm weather. The handcrafted kitchen blends traditional craftsmanship with stylish convenience and boasts a great selection of appliances including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Located just beyond this and at the base of the stairs is a handy utility room with a washing machine and ground floor WC which also provides a useful place to store coats and outdoor equipment. Now venture up the feature spiral cob staircase made with local ash and onto the first floor where you will find yourself on the spacious landing which leads to the two gorgeous bedrooms. The first and larger of the two rooms boasts a king-size bed and French doors to a pretty Juliet balcony. The second a smaller but equally impeccably styled room offers twin single beds (which can be joined to create a comfortable queen-size bed.) Completing the offering inside the property and located in between the bedrooms is stylish bathroom with a roll-top bath, separate shower, marble sink and WC.

Heading outside, further highlights await in the shape of the delightful, enclosed courtyard garden located directly outside and presented with garden furniture and a BBQ. This provides a perfect venue for laid-back meals in the open air, or just a morning coffee before heading out for the day. Further to this, guests also benefit from access to a secluded area with seating and a fire pit, perfect for stargazing on a clear night. Private off-road parking for two cars is provided.
