Head to this delightful part of Suffolk and unwind with family or friends. This two-storey cottage makes an ideal base for anyone looking to explore Mid Suffolk and the heritage coast, with easy access to the A14 and Ipswich (12 miles). The village of Stowupland has a strong community feel, with traditional pubs, a local shop and footpaths that lead you through scenic landscapes – making this a great destination for walkers and cyclists. The market town of Stowmarket is just 2 miles, where you’ll find a choice of shops and places to eat and drink. The beautiful Medieval village of Lavenham is just 13.5 miles, while the Anglo-Saxon royal burial site of Sutton Hoo is 20.5 miles. The chef of the holiday will find everything necessary in here to cook up a storm. Move through to the spacious lounge, where there’s a wood-burner-effect electric stove set into the exposed-brick chimney. Snuggle on the corner sofa and line up a box set on the Smart TV for a superbly relaxing evening. Completing the ground floor is the family bathroom, with a shower over the bath and WC. Take the cottage-style stairs to the first floor to find all three bedrooms, which feature lovely wooden beds and traditional sprung mattresses.

At the back of the property, the large, lawned garden is fully enclosed with a wooden fence and includes dining furniture as well as a charcoal BBQ. This is the perfect space for a meal in the sunshine or under the stars. There’s also another large garden at the front, which is not enclosed. Cosy comfortable cottage well equipped for 4. Quiet with enclosed private garden, but close to A14 and easy walk to main line train station. Great location for discovering Suffolk.

Very clean and cosy, we only had a short stay but felt very comfortable. Great to have a secure garden for the dog to run around, and the location was excellent having a supermarket, Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop within a short distance.

Our two week stay in late September entirley lived up to expectations. The property is indeed a traditional farm workers cottage with memorable features such as a wonderfully spacious master bedroom complete with authentic beams and sloping ceilings. The louge is cosy and the kitchen more than adequate for holidaymakes such as us who prefer to eat Read moreout whilst away from home. Whilst the building may be delightfully old, we found that our comfort was ensured by the fine sofa in the lounge and by the excellent beds which provided us with a sound night's sleep for the whole stay. The staircase is narrow and steep, but we soon adjusted to this throwback to former times and it caused us no issues even on nocturnal visits to the downstairs bathroom. As the autumn evenings began to chill, we found the storage heaters very efficieint in maintaining our comfort. Meanwhile, the location of the property is ideal for exploring numerous towns and cities in all directions - and the glorious coastline to the east. Hide

We don't usually stay in smaller cottages but found this one to be great value for money, with everything we (family of 4 adults) needed. We had been a bit worried about the steep stairs and the only toilet being downstairs, but it wasn't a problem and the taller ones got used to ducking through the doorways (eventually!). We chose the property maiRead morenly for the location, which is excellent. We were able to get to everywhere we wanted to for days out - coast, country, villages & towns really easily and everything we needed during our stay was close by in the village itself and in Stowmarket. It's also great for public transport, being 20 mins or so walk (or regular bus) from Stowmarket station. Hide

It's an very old farm workers cottage with low ceilings, beams and steep stairs so I wouldn't book it if your majorly over 6 foot tall or have mobility issues. However, we were a family of four adults yet it didn't feel cramped. the garden was a good size, surrounded by mature trees but otherwise it was just a big square of grass. Good for childreRead moren's games at least. As we were the first guests to ever rent, after its recent conversion into a holiday let, there were obviously a few teething issues but the owner was already dealing with them before we left. We had a lovely peaceful time here and the owner was very helpful. Hide
