We had a wonderful week in the Lodge. We felt very happy the minute we walked through the door. It was incredibly well designed and comfortable with the added bonus of air conditioning in the living space and the master bedroom and with fabulous views over the lake from all rooms and the large deck and lower jetty. There were also a few welcome tRead morereats in the fridge for us. It was exciting to watch the neighbours practising their water ski-ing when we got back from our day trips each evening and we all enjoyed the ducks coming over to say hello.. The site was quiet and peaceful and we tried kayaking and used the pool, both of which were enjoyable. We went sight seeing daily or to visit family nearby. Stamford is an interesting and historic town about 15 minutes drive away with loads of lanes to explore and shops, cafes and bars and a couple of parks with a river running through. Oakham is about 30 minutes away and also a great place to explore and have lunch, plus Rutland Water of course. Reception staff were helpful and pleasant. Overall a fabulous week away in the UK, despite the so-so weather! Our family visited and all started to look at booking themselves in for the weekends! We were delighted with our break away at the lodge and will return. Thank you! Hide
