Located directly on the Pennine Way, it’s a dream base for long-distance walkers eager to lace up their boots each morning and head straight out. Explore Dodd Fell (6.5 miles), where the flat summit offers breathtaking views over the Sleddale valley, or seek out the enchanting waterfalls at Hardraw Force and Cotter Force (both 4.5 miles). The nearest market town is Hawes (4 miles), home to the world-famous Wensleydale Creamery and the Dales Countryside Museum – a great place to delve into the heritage of this iconic National Park. Further afield, the charming market towns of Settle (19.5 miles), Ingleton (14.5 miles), and Kirkby Lonsdale (21 miles) are all well worth a full afternoon’s visit.
