Located in this charming Cornish fishing village and on the South West Coast Path there is plenty to do close to your doorstep. The cottage provides an ideal base for walkers and families looking for some outside space. Take a short drive to Bodinnick where you will find Ferryside, Daphne du Mauriers’ home where she wrote her first book, the car ferry leaves from here giving you easier access further into the west of Cornwall. Experience what Cornwall has to offer, such as the Screech Owl Sanctuary and Wildlife Park, hidden coves and beaches, fantastic sailing waters, the twin castles of Pendennis and St Mawes, cliff top walks and the many National Trust properties and gardens.

This family friendly cottage has a spacious entrance room, with room to hang coats and store boots after a long day exploring. Moving on through the ground floor the lounge has two comfy sofas where you can sit and enjoy your favourite film on the Smart TV/DVD. Proceed to the large open plan well-equipped kitchen which has a dining area complete with large table and chairs big enough to seat the entire party. The stunning modern kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. you will also find a seating area perfect for having morning coffee or reading a book. You will also find the family bathroom on this floor which has a bath, separate shower, underfloor heating, and WC.  Moving on upstairs to the first floor you will find the 3 bedrooms the tastefully furnished master bedroom has a king-size bed, bedroom two is a cosy double and bedroom three is a large twin room. Also, on the first floor you will find a useful separate WC.

Proceeding to the spacious private garden from the kitchen through glass doors continue up the steep steps to the garden, with furniture for up to six people, the garden space is large and sloping and has some views across the harbour to Fowey. There is no private parking at the cottage, parking is available in the local car parks which are close by. You are able to pull up outside the cottage to unload only.

  • Polruan is a quaint little village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.
  • Many of the amenities, ferries and cottages in Polruan are accessed via steps some of which can be steep. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.
  • There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Polruan do not have private parking. However, there is a large pay and display carpark at the top of the village
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00

Fantastic location close to the harbour and pubs. The harbour is a stones throw from the front door and my children 10 and 14 loved going down for s swim. The Cottage is light and spacious with great coastal decor. The garden at the back is a very decent and the views from the decking are lovely. The cottage is also well equiped. Looe, Polperro, EdRead moreen project etc are all a short drive as are some superb beaches. Fowey via the ferry is also picturesque. We loved our stay here!!! Hide

We absolutely LOVED our stay in Summer Cottage. It is a deceptively spacious cottage, particularly on the ground floor, with lots of space for relaxing, cooking, eating and playing family games. The garden is wonderful, and we really enjoyed having our breakfast on the 'top deck' overlooking the harbour. The beds were some of the most comfortable wRead moree have ever slept in too! Perfectly positioned in the heart of Polruan for enjoying everything the village has to offer. We will be back! Hide

Lovely spacious property well situated for the shops and quay. Beautiful garden with a nice view over the village and river. Lovely unique interior, lots of space for 4-6 people.

We really enjoyed our stay at Summer Cottage, and would recommend it to friends. The location is brilliant in terms of access to the shop, bakery and harbour. The tv room is spacious but still a cosy place to curl up in the evenings, and the kitchen/dining room also features a nook where 4 or 5 people can sit and chat or play a game whilst someone Read moreelse is cooking. Lovely cottage - great for family with 2 teenage kids as lots of space. Loved the garden for sunny breakfasts. Polruan is a great village. The village shop opposite was a real bonus.

Delightful cottage, light, clean, airy, very comfortable, and well furnished. Good view over to Fowey from the garden. Easy access to the quay and local shops. The local grocery shop is very good with a wide choice of products given the size.
