We had a wonderful week at Barney Cottage. The accommodation was ideal for us and the cottage is extremely well equipped. Polruan is well served for a small village - the village shop is great and the cafe has a good selection of pastries and pasties. There are two pubs - we preferred The Lugger. The ferry to Fowey is frequent and we used the fRead moreerry to Mevagissey too - we were lucky enough to see dolphins on the crossing! We hardly needed to use the car and travelling by boat was really pleasant in the hot weather! There is a car park at the top of the village or private parking options - we don't recommend driving down into the village as it is incredibly steep and narrow. We watched several cars and vans struggling! Be prepared for the very narrow, winding roads in and out of Polruan. Patience and a cool head are definitely needed. We would have loved to stay longer. It's a great cottage in a great location. Hide

Barney cottage is a comfortable, very clean, well decorated property in an excellent location. Barney Cottage is a budget-friendly option for Polruan. The layout is possibly not for everyone as the front bedroom is accessed by a separate staircase and is completely cut off from the 2 bedrooms at the back of the house. If you have small children it's definitely something to consider. Located on the steep hill, just past general store.
