Tucked in the lively village of Gresford, this welcoming holiday cottage makes a fantastic base for families or friends looking to explore the best of North Wales. With welcoming pubs, interesting shops, and friendly eateries within walking distance – plus a main bus route between Wrexham and Chester – you're in a wonderful location for a mix of countryside charm and city adventure. Wrexham (3 miles) is having a real moment in the spotlight thanks to the Hollywood-fuelled rise of its football club. Take a wander around the town, visit the racecourse, and soak up the atmosphere of this proud Welsh city. Alternatively, visit Chester to explore the ancient Roman walls, stroll the pretty riverside, and spend the day shopping and dining in the historic Rows. For families, Chester Zoo is a big hit, or if you’re craving fresh air and big views, you’re less than 15 miles from the Clwydian Range National Landscape.

Inside, this unique cottage is a real gem – a cosy retreat with personality and heart in every detail. Throughout the property, you’ll find traditional 100% Welsh wool throws, vintage Laura Ashley fabric curtains, and a warm, homely atmosphere. While the property is compact, the clever layout and open-plan living space make the most of every inch. Step through the bi-fold doors and into the open-plan living, kitchen, and dining space, where character and craftsmanship shine. The owner has lovingly reworked much of the furniture by hand, and the cottage is thoughtfully finished with locally sourced soft furnishings, artwork, and curios, many with ties to Wrexham and the surrounding area, giving a real sense of place and heritage. The living area offers a snug nook by the roaring wood burner – ideal for curling up during a winter escape – while in summer, the bi-fold doors open wide to let the sunshine in and blur the lines between indoors and out. Just off the kitchen is a small downstairs bedroom with a double bed tucked neatly against the wall on one side. Head upstairs to discover the main bedroom, another inviting double, and a lovely family bathroom boasting a roll-top bath and eye-catching wallpaper. From the main bedroom, stairs lead up to an attic hideaway with low ceilings and a sofa (which can be made up into a single bed if needed) – the perfect place to unwind, read, or watch a film, with views through the skylight adding to the elevated vibe.

Outside, the south-facing garden is a real highlight – a private sanctuary bursting with colour and interest. Sit back on the high-quality rattan sofa, dine alfresco beneath festoon lights, or fire up the charcoal BBQ for a sunny afternoon feast. With its mix of trees, flowering plants, a bird bath, and a handmade water feature, it’s a delightful space from sunrise to starry nights. Private parking for two cars ensures your stay is stress-free from arrival.
