Ideal for a family or friends sharing, this appealing holiday haven sleeping four guests is a 1-mile walk across fields and along the riverbank to delightful Lyme Regis (the terrain is a steep walk back to the property). The picturesque town is famous for its fossils and the Cobb, a historic harbour from where you can take a boat trip around Lyme Bay. Sheltered Sandy Beach is a family favourite for swimming, sandcastles and water sports, while keen fossil hunters will love Lyme’s pebble beaches. Join guided fossil walks run by Lyme Regis Museum and the Heritage Coast Centre at pretty Charmouth (2 miles). Stroll through the town’s beautiful seafront gardens and along the promenade with wonderful sea views. Tranquil country walks are on your doorstep, while the South West Coast Path offers glorious vistas. Non-members are welcome at the town’s golf club and children have their own seafront mini-golf course. Lively Bridport (9.5 miles) has lots to see, with regular street markets selling everything from plants to paintings.

Nestled around peaceful pastureland teeming with wildlife, this delightful cottage has been lovingly converted from a traditional stone barn into a small, select complex of six holiday lets. Three steps lead you to the front door of this retreat and into an open-plan living space designed for comfort and relaxation. The spacious lounge features inviting sofas set around a wood burner-style electric fire and a TV – perfect for cosy evenings in. The dining table comfortably seats four, and the adjoining kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals throughout your stay. Upstairs, you’ll find a family bathroom and two characterful bedrooms – a restful double and a charming twin – ideal for families or friends.

Step outside to your own enclosed, private patio with outdoor seating and colourful planters perfect for al fresco dining or a morning coffee. Beyond, guests are welcome to enjoy the shared grounds, complete with picnic tables, a peaceful pond, and far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside.

Lovely cottage, very comfortable - we are a family of four including 2 teenagers and there was plenty of room for us all. Well equipped and had everything we needed. The walk down to Lyme Regis was beautiful, however quite a steep climb on the way back so those less able bodied may struggle. Peaceful location, the front garden is a real sun trap inRead more the afternoons. Hide

Lovely situation- the walk into Lyme over the fields is great, takes about 45-50 mins (depends on how often you stop to admire the view)
