Located in the lovely Dorset village of Worth Matravers, this charming chalet bungalow has sweeping sea and coastal views for you to wake up to each day. The village has a traditional green and duck pond, a tearoom and a characterful pub that also houses a mini museum of local fossils and artefacts – a true gem. Walkers and fossil hunters will love the scenic 1.5-mile paths to Chapman’s Pool, a quiet cove with fishermen’s huts, or to Winspit (1 mile), a dramatic cliffside quarry ideal for picnics. For a refreshing dip, head to the rocky beach at Seacombe (1 mile), or venture 4 miles to the lively seaside town of Swanage for sandy shores, a heritage railway and an abundance of shops and eateries.

On arrival, step through the front door and into a welcoming hallway that guides you to a spacious lounge on the left. Here you’ll find a sunny bay window overlooking the garden and with distant sea views, a wood burner for cosy evenings and a Smart TV with seating for six. The open-plan kitchen and dining area sits to the rear, with patio doors opening directly onto the garden for easy indoor-outdoor living. A separate utility room off the hallway includes a washing machine, tumble dryer and handy garden access. Also on the ground floor are two bedrooms, a double, and a king-size with an en-suite shower and WC. Next is a separate WC, and a family bathroom with shower over the bath. Outside, the enclosed lawned garden offers space to play and relax, with a trampoline, loungers, a picnic bench and BBQ area, plus a raised deck and a second lawn bordered by stone walls and hedging.

The property has been modernised and presented to a very high standard and was impeccably clean and tidy. A light, airy yet very homely house - perfect for my elderly mother and young daughter. A very tranquil location with a distant sea view and a short walk from the centre of the village with the exceptional Square & Compass pub, serving local aRead moreles at terrific prices with its position offering sweeping views of the blue horizon! The whole area has a remote, highly atmospheric sense of place and is a short walk away from some of the most spectacular sections of the South West Coast path in Dorset. We were also very lucky with the weather and Worth Matravers is a convenient location from which to access the dramatic, rocky settings like Lullworth Cove further west as well as the while sand dune beaches of Studland and Shell Bay.
