Heading west, the characterful coastal village of Ravenglass (2 miles) has a choice of great places to eat and drink, with attractions including Muncaster Castle and Gardens, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway, and the remains of the Ravenglass Roman Bath House. The serene Drigg Sand Dunes lie to the northwest (6.5 miles), with Wast Water to the northeast (10 miles). Walkers can head further inland to attempt the local peaks of Scafell Pike, Great Gable and Hard Knott, all within 15 miles.
