You’ll be just 1 mile from the peaceful village of Bassenthwaite, where a stream trickles through the heart of the community and a charming village pub. A short drive (7 miles) takes you to the bustling market towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, both packed with shops, cafes and oodles of local charm. If you’re craving lake days, Bassenthwaite Lake (0.7 mile) is ideal for gentle walks, wildlife watching, and wild swimming, with options for sailing, rowing, kayaking and canoeing too. If you’re in the mood for some pampering, book yourself a treatment at Armathwaite Hall Spa (1 mile). Or head to the Lakes Distillery (1.5 miles), which serves up whisky, vodka and gin with a side of alpacas.
