At the base of Snowdonia/Eryri National Park, discover this charming Welsh cottage with quirky decor and traditional styling – a perfect destination for families. The property is situated close to the heart of Aberdovey (500 metres), a thriving harbour resort boasting beautiful beaches, an excellent array of water sports, and rows of pretty pastel-coloured houses that lend the place a picturesque charm. Sailing, rowing, fishing and canoeing are all on offer here, and the annual sailing regatta brings the village to life every summer. On the edge of the village, a championship golf club also invites you to tee off (1 mile). Explore Cardigan Bay as it stretches along the coastline, following the Wales Coast Path on foot or by bike. Take a day trip to the eclectic town of Machynlleth (10.5 miles), a hub for modern art.

Take the sloped path up to the cottage and pause before heading inside to admire the dazzling sea view and the pretty village below. On entering the property, you’ll be welcomed by a farmhouse-style kitchen/diner – a delightful space with charming tiling, painted cabinets and stable-style doors. A breakfast table at the centre of the kitchen invites relaxed conversation and delicious food. A utility cupboard just off the kitchen provides additional storage space, and after meals have been served and cleared away, you can move through to the lounge. With a feature fireplace, plenty of comfortable seating and a TV with Firestick to stream all your favourite shows, you’ll love unwinding here. Upstairs, two bedrooms are styled with retro detailing and antique-style furniture. The largest is a spacious double with a wrought iron bed, while the second is a cosy twin adorned with fairy lights for added warmth and charm. A family bathroom completes the first floor.

On sunny days, be sure to make the most of the exceptional terraced garden at the rear of the cottage. Accessed through the kitchen, this three-level outdoor space features paving stones, ample seating options and a charcoal BBQ. Climb to the top tier for uninterrupted sea views – the perfect setting for al fresco evenings. There’s secure storage space for bicycles and direct access to scenic footpaths from the top of the garden. During your stay, you’ll be provided with one parking pass for a local car park, located 400 metres away.
