For an unforgettable romantic stay or solo experience, stay at this charming shepherd’s hut deep in the Welsh hills. It’s been handcrafted with care and enjoys a dreamy location within the quiet grounds of a Grade II-listed farmhouse – part of a working hillside farm that’s been in the same family for six generations. Wake up to stunning views of Mynydd y Gaer and enjoy access to meadows, an orchard, ancient woodland, a walled garden and a tranquil pond for guaranteed restoration. The farm is home to traditional Welsh Beulah sheep, cows, and even a peacock or two. You’ll feel miles away from it all, yet Denbigh and the coast of Abergele is just 7 miles away, with the Clwydian Range all around you for rural escapades. Whether you're after star-filled skies, countryside walks or peaceful cycling routes off the beaten path, this really is a North Wales gem.

On arrival, follow the farm track past the serene pond and farmyard, and park up by the red-brick garage before heading down the winding footpath to your cosy retreat. Four or five wooden steps lead up to the entrance. Once inside, the shepherd’s hut is snug and beautifully finished, with elegant wood panelling, underfloor heating and an electric wood burner for toasty evenings. There’s a sleek blue kitchen with an apron sink, lovely for meal prep, and a table for two for eating. Down one end, through a curtained nook, is a double bed next to a gorgeous stained glass window feature. A good-sized shower room with WC finishes off the space. Thoughtful touches and vintage décor throughout – like old photographs and timeworn pieces – create a sense of nostalgia. You’ll have private parking for 2 cars.

Step outside to a generously sized yard, complete with a charming bistro set perfect for serene morning breakfasts and a cosy firepit for relaxing evenings, all set against a tranquil, idyllic backdrop. On the farm, you’re free to wander through ancient woodland, relax in the walled garden or simply sit beside the pond. Keep an eye out for the friendly farm cat, a cockapoo, and peacocks strutting through the grounds.

A Perfect Countryside Escape in a Beautiful Shepherd's Hut We had the most wonderful stay at this charming shepherd's hut a true hidden gem nestled in nature. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how peaceful and idyllic the setting was. Local wildlife thrives all around, and it was a real treat to spot deer grazing in the early morninRead moregs and listen to birdsong throughout the day. The outdoor space is just perfect for unwinding. Theres a beautifully designed fire pit area with comfortable seating thats ideal for evenings under the stars. We spent hours out there, cooking, chatting, and soaking in the tranquility. The hut itself is stunning clearly brand new and thoughtfully designed. Everything from the fixtures and fittings to the layout feels high-end and well considered. The interior is modern yet cozy, with a clean, stylish finish. We were especially impressed with the double shower, which was a real luxury in such a rural setting! Its obvious that a lot of care and attention has gone into creating a space thats both practical and relaxing. Whether youre looking for a romantic weekend away or just a peaceful retreat in nature, this shepherds hut ticks every box. Highly recommended were already planning our return visit! Hide
