Just a couple of miles from the shores of the magnificent Shannon Estuary, this light-filled retreat provides cosy and relaxing accommodation for up to six guests enjoying a quiet break in a stunning part of Ireland. The historic village of Ballylongford is to the north (2 miles) with a choice of friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants. Two miles on from the village, you can explore the remains of the 15th-century Carrigafoyle Castle standing at the entrance-point to Carrig Island which is also home to a ruined Napoleonic-era battery. Heading along the coast, Littor Beach (7.5 miles) is a charming small sandy beach, with the longer Beal Beach (10.5 miles), providing a popular spot for fishing and birdwatching. For golf enthusiasts, Ballybunion Golf Club is within 10 miles. Back inland, Listowel (7 miles) is a vibrant town with attractions including Listowel Castle, the Lartigue Monorail, the Seanchai, Kerry Writers’ Museum and the twice-yearly Listowel Races.
Entering this bright and inviting bungalow, head through to the stylishly arranged and light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which makes an ideal space for you all to unwind in after a fabulous day exploring an unforgettable part of County Kerry. The cheery lounge has a Smart TV and ample comfortable seating, with windows looking out across the surrounding fields. There’s a lovely dining table over by one of the windows, and the kitchen area also has a handy central island with seating, alongside plenty of equipment to help you rustle up family feasts. Further equipment and storage space can be found in the utility room. When it’s time to turn in for the night, you will have a choice of three cosy double bedrooms: two of the rooms are regular in size, while the third is a little smaller. The accommodation also features a refreshing shower room.
Stepping outside, the large garden wraps around the cottage, offering a relaxing spot for taking in the surrounding views. Off-road parking is available for two cars.
