For convenience whenever you fancy some delicious food or a refreshing drink, this delightful cottage is right next door to a fabulous pub that serves seasonal, home-cooked food using Dorset produce. It’s also set on the main road that links Bridport (3 miles) to Weymouth (16 miles), which means you can get out and about easily, whether by car or catching one of the regular buses. It’s a great destination for a romantic retreat or a family getaway, with Hive Beach less than a mile away. This expanse of shingle is renowned for its spectacular sandstone cliffs and makes a great destination for an invigorating walk or a picnic. The whole coastline is a World Heritage Site and is also, of course, much loved by fossil hunters. For a day out, Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens is just 6.5 miles, while refined Lyme Regis is 12.5 miles.

Full of history and character, this pretty cottage has a variety of original features, including old doors, rugged wooden beams and areas of low ceiling on the first floor. Leave your coats and boots in the hallway, then enter the lounge/diner on your right, which runs the full length of the property. Decorated in tranquil, neutral colours, this spacious room has a choice of seating, an ornamental brick fireplace and a Smart TV – perfect for an evening at home, with a favourite movie or perhaps a book or a board game from the shelves. Step into the kitchen, fitted in 2025, where you’ll find everything you’ll need to cook up delicious holiday meals, including a microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine. This room leads to the shower room and WC, which also contains a washing machine. When you start to yawn, take the stairs to the first floor where there’s a handy WC and two sweet bedrooms, a twin at the front and a double at the back.

From the dining area, a stable door leads to the enclosed paved courtyard, furnished for al fresco dining or for relaxing in the sun. Please bear in mind that the next-door pub’s kitchen wall forms part of the courtyard, so you may occasionally hear some noise from this excellent establishment. Parking for this property is on-street, subject to availability.
