A cosy and quiet hideaway in a convenient location within vibrant Ledbury, this town cottage makes a great base for anyone eager to explore the Malvern Hills, Eastnor and Ledbury. Sleeping five guests, and welcoming a four-pawed pal, this three-bedroom retreat is both on the fringes of this glorious swathe of countryside and in a superb position within Ledbury for enjoying the market town's many historic streets, cobbled lanes, independent shops, eateries and wonderful dog walking opportunities from your front door. Eastnor Castle, 2.5 miles away, makes a great afternoon out, with its beautiful grounds, lake and arboretum. The younger members of your party will also love the adventure playground and deer park here. Follow footpaths through the Malvern Hills, visit Weston’s cider shop and cafe or head further afield to the Wye Valley, 8.5 miles away, with its opportunities for walking, cycling and canoeing. Ledbury is equidistant from the historic cathedral cities of Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester. Plan a day trip to one of these historic cities, each around 15 miles away, where you can potter in the shops, visit the cathedrals and stroll beside the rivers.
From the main street, follow an atmospheric brick lined, cobbled path down towards this delightful cottage, which opens up to a ‘secret’ south facing walled garden. Enter via the porch, where you can unlace boots and hang jackets before heading on into the hall. Turn left to enjoy the comfort of the lovely lounge, with its elegant colour palette and stylish open Victorian fireplace. Sink back into the snug sofas with the fire crackling during the autumn and winter months. Play lively family games or watch the Smart TV. The spacious kitchen/diner is to the right of the hall and makes another great place to spend quality time together. Find everything you need in here to rustle up delicious meals for your family or friends then pull the benches out from under the farmhouse table to enjoy your feasts. There is also a handy WC downstairs. The bedrooms, two doubles and one single, are all up on the first floor of the cottage, together with a landing area with a handy reading, contemplation or workspace with gorgeous views over neighbouring red brick walled gardens. Each bedroom exudes period style and has been finished with a colourful flair. The family bathroom, which offers the choice of a bath or shower, is also up here.
Have morning coffee in the cosy covered outdoor space through the stable doors from the kitchen on warm days, or even rainy ones! There is also space here for storing bikes. Relax in the stone paved cottage garden sitting on the low wall or amongst the trees on the garden bench, looking out over the countryside towards the Marcle Ridge. Parking is in a paid public car park 50 metres away, or on street opposite the property entrance, subject to availability.
