A delightful blend of charming former merchants’ houses and snug cottages lines the lanes around Padstow’s historic harbour, making it a firm Cornish favourite. Located in the Camel Estuary, this bustling town is celebrated as both a foodie haven and a working fishing port. Its diverse array of eateries ensures every palate is pampered. Visitors can enjoy golden beaches, scenic coastal walks, and a variety of boat excursions, including catching the ferry to the fashionable village of Rock, here a dune-backed beach extends a mile to Daymer Bay, where calm waters invite children to play safely. Back in Padstow, a pleasant 3-mile stroll past the Elizabethan Prideaux Place leads to the sheltered sands of Harbour Cove. Just 8.5 miles inland, the historic market town of Wadebridge − once renowned for wool − is linked to Padstow and Bodmin by the 18-mile Camel Trail, perfect for walking and cycling.

A pathway from Church Lane leads you to the cottage's front door, where stepping inside reveals a spacious, open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area. Lovingly refurbished, you will find a mix of traditional stonework and exposed ceiling beams, complemented by modern comforts like a Smart TV that doubles as a picture frame when it’s time to socialise and eat. A wood burner ensures a snug retreat even on the coldest winter evenings. The modern kitchen boasts everything you might need to whip up a family meal, not forgetting a fantastic supply of Tarquin’s Cornish Gin glasses for those must-have sundowners! Upstairs, you’ll find both double bedrooms with sumptuous beds to sink into after a great day of walking and eating, and the family shower room completes this level.

Framing the end of the mews, a tranquil woodland enhances the charm of this holiday cottage. Unwind in your secluded, walled courtyard, where you can bask in sunshine and fresh air while you sip a cool drink.

A gorgeous little cottage right in the heart of Padstow old town. We had a very comfortable weekend and thought the cottage was delightful. Would definitely consider booking again!
