Full of character and charm, this three-bedroom cottage in the heart of Orford makes a wonderful base for a Suffolk holiday. From the pretty front lawn, you can enjoy postcard-worthy views of Orford Church as well as its castle just 350 metres away. The village itself is known for its peaceful atmosphere, rich history and foodie credentials, with superb seafood (especially oysters), an excellent bakery and cosy pubs all easily accessible. For coastal scenery and curious military relics, stroll down to catch a boat over to the mysterious Orford Ness (0.5 miles) (booking required). Nature lovers will be right at home here: RSPB Havergate Island (1.5 miles) is a haven for birdwatching, and the surrounding Suffolk Coast & Heaths National Landscape is ripe for exploration on foot or by bike.
