Escape to the heart of the Lancashire countryside and enjoy a peaceful stay on a pretty working farm – the perfect romantic retreat for couples. With a private gin distillery tour available and a private on-site bar, you’ll quickly relax into holiday mode. Take a gentle stroll through the woodland trails, try your hand at fishing in the lake, and soak up the surrounding natural area. When you’re ready to roam further afield, the chic coastal town of Lytham St Annes is 6 miles away, where you can dip your toes in the sand, browse independent boutiques, or linger over a long lunch at one of the many bistros. The Forest of Bowland (15 miles) beckons with breathtaking walking routes, while Blackpool (6 miles) promises all the fun of the seaside with its traditional attractions, ice cream shops and rollercoasters.

Set on one level and welcoming one well-behaved dog, this chic countryside retreat is an excellent base for a country escape. Step into the entrance hall to drop muddy boots and dry off paws after a stroll through the surrounding woodlands. To the left, a welcoming lounge invites you to unwind with a plush deep green sofa set against a characterful exposed brick wall, and a Smart TV awaits for evenings in. The lounge flows through to a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, where you'll find everything you need to whip up lazy breakfasts or hearty evening meals. The room is full of charm, with an original fireplace now standing as a decorative centrepiece. On the opposite side of the property, the beautifully styled super-king-size bedroom is finished with elegant panelling behind the bed, creating a calm and restful space for a peaceful night’s sleep. The contemporary bathroom has a shower over the bath, providing the choice of a long soak or a refreshing rinse after your adventures.

Outside, a short walk away is a private seating area which provides a front-row view over the stunning Fylde Peninsula, with Blackpool Tower twinkling in the distance. Deck chairs will be waiting for you, and there’s a space for enjoying a BBQ as the sun goes down. Guests are welcome to explore many of the estate's wooded trails, clearly marked on maps provided in the cottage. A scenic lake, available for fishing by arrangement with the owner, offers waterside walks, and just a short stroll away is the acclaimed Black Powder Gin distillery, where you can arrange a tour with tastings and drinks in the on-site bar. My wife and I are both disabled so the idea of this cottage was very beneficial. Upon arrival the property was immaculate, cozy, clean and an absolute pleasure to stay in. all on one level the access was very easy, no steps, overall the whole cottage was second to none, There was a welcome hamper waiting for us, which included wine, gin, tea, coffRead moreee, which was a nice surprise. This location was superb as well, extremely quiet, with lovely gardens and countryside. This is a location and cottage that i would definately recomment to family and friends, and should we return I will certainly book again. Thanks to the wonderful owner. magnificent experience. Hide

Lovely setting with great walks. Disappointed there was no garden, or even a bench outside to chill with your coffee, although this was on the overview when we booked.

A lovely cottage in a great location. Tony made us feel very welcome from the day we arrived to the day we left. The cottage is very well equipped with an amazingly comfortable bed. We enjoyed walking the estate with our young springer spaniel exploring the interesting scents. There is an excellent pub nearby, The Eagle, which you can walk to throuRead moregh the estate and a handy Aldi a few minutes drive away. Tony gave us a tour of his distillery of which he is rightly proud after which we enjoyed a few samples of his excellent gin and rum. We would highly recommend this cottage, ideally placed to explore the Fylde coast and nearby Trough of Bowland. Hide
