A delightful cottage sleeping six guests. An ideal base for a holiday away from it all in the unspoiled landscape close to the Solway Coast, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are vast expanses of tranquil, unspoiled wide sand stretches with intertidal mudflats and saltmarshes. The remoteness of these give the area its appeal and character. There are several nature reserves, and lovely areas to walk and cycle. RSPB nature reserves are also numerous along the coast. Carlisle (6. 5 miles) is steeped in history and culture. Explore the city’s a 900-year-old castle, ancient cathedral and newly refurbished Tullie House museum as well as any abundance of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. The Hadrian's Wall path which ends at Bowness on Solway (3 miles) is a must see as well as the historic sites of Lanercost and Birdoswald, both within 23 miles. The popular Lake District markets town of Pooley Bridge (Ullswater) Keswick (Derwentwater) are also within 35 miles.
