Set in the beautiful coastal village of Oxwich, this enticing retreat is perfect for large families and groups of friends. Sleeping 12, the five-bedroom cottage is just 500 metres from Oxwich Bay Beach. The beach is flanked by dunes and is ideal for swimming; it has a boat launching slipway and is dog friendly all year round. The village itself has a store, tearoom, restaurants and a takeaway. The magnificent Three Cliffs Bay is just 4 miles away, while Port Eynon, which is popular for water sports, is 3.5 miles away. Venture into Mumbles (10 miles) with its lighthouse, pier, and excellent selection of independent shops, bars and restaurants. There are some great walks from Oxwich to other nearby beaches, including Slade Bay and Port Eynon to the west and Three Cliffs Bay, Pwll Du and Crawley Woods to the east.

The ground floor offers a spacious lounge which flows through to a kitchen/diner and includes a Smart TV. The kitchen has all the appliances you’ll need and a breakfast bar; the dining area is perfect for family gatherings around the table. French doors open out from here onto a large patio for outside dining. The ground floor also has a utility room with shower and WC. A downstairs bedroom offers a bunk bed that can sleep two children. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom featuring a corner jacuzzi bath with a shower. The bathroom is a Jack and Jill arrangement and can be shared with other guests. There are two further bedrooms on the first floor – a king-size and a twin. Both bedrooms are served by a family bathroom. Moving up to the second floor you will find a most unusual but spectacular bedroom and lounge area with a barrel-type wooden ceiling. It has a king-size bed and a double sofa bed with a smart. The bedroom is served by the family bathroom on the first floor.

Outside, you’ll find the lovely patio area, a summer house, and a tranquil upper terrace. The terrace has a BBQ and seating where you can chat long into the night, staying snug and warm thanks to the overhead electric heating. The garage has been set up as a games room with darts board and table tennis. The property has ample parking space, and you can even store a boat securely. There is also storage for bicycles and water sports equipment

An excellent family house to stay, with great facilities and in a superb position. The hosts had provided everything we needed and more, and plenty of information about local attractions and walks, which was very useful. Loved it!

A very comfortable cottage fir our Easter family holiday. There was everything that we needed. The location, just a short walk to the beach and many other lovely places to walk.

The Gables is in an excellent location, just a short walk to the wonderful Oxwich beach and all the amenities there. The house is a little dated and has been extended into the loft to provide additional accommodation. For our party of adults we didn't like the lack of privacy on the 2nd floor, but this could work for a family. The kitchen is welRead morel equipped and the dining areas in the house and outside on the compact patio are good. To the front of the house, once the gates are closed, this provides secure open access for children and dogs. The sitting room is quite small with only one 3-seater sofa and a selection of small chairs, most of which we found uncomfortable. At the time of year we visited and used the room, a large group of 8-10 might struggle to feel comfortable. The welcome pack was very much appreciated, thank you. Hide

We had the loveliest of weekends in "The Gables" celebrating my husbands 60th with extended family. The house was able to accommodate all of us easily and very comfortably. The top floor was very popular with the youngsters (with a gorgeous view to the sea), the bedrooms generous and very comfortable and the kitchen and lounge area perfect for all Read moreof us to meet and eat together. The location is very quiet, the lane is not busy at all. Nothing to disturb your sleep apart from the bird song in the morning. Easy parking for 3 cars at least. With our two dogs it was perfect to just walk a very short distance to the beautiful Oxwich bay beach. Our lovely host left us with all the information we needed, including maps and walking suggestions. As an extra welcome gesture a little hamper with food goodies was waiting for us (those eggs from your farm were huge, thank you!) It was also very well catered for for our two dogs with extra cages provided. We are very much looking forward to coming again. Hide
