Overlooking the breath taking coastline of Teignmouth, this family-friendly seaside retreat boasting panoramic views is perfect for anyone craving an escape to Devon’s rugged coastal and countryside scenery, and all it has to offer. Situated on the edge of the mouth of the River Teign, the coastal town of Teignmouth is a haven for anyone looking to answer the call of the coast. Enjoy a variety of water sports at Teignmouth Town Beach or enjoy a spot of fishing at Teignmouth River Beach, both reached within 2 miles. Take a ride on Britain’s oldest passenger ferry (2 miles), dating back to Saxon times, across the river to the picturesque fishing village of Shaldon (2.5 miles) to ramble around its maze of narrow twisting streets lined with thatched cottages and listed Georgian homes. The magnificent walking country of Dartmoor National Park can be reached within 15 miles and why not join in the local Parkrun on a flat and fast Teignmouth seafront every Saturday morning at 9am! Powderham Castle provides a lovely day out as does Haldon Forest for bike trails galore and the fabulous Go Ape high rope adventures, hidden in the woods, or visit the Belvedere. Sidmouth has a lovely long esplanade, beach and bespoke shops and boutiques. Exeter offers the Cathedral or Underground Tunnels for a day trip, or a paddle along the river from the quay in kayaks or on paddleboards.

At the end of a busy day, kick off your beach shoes in the welcoming entrance hallway before washing off sandy toes in the contemporary family shower room, which also leads to a handy utility room. Enjoying magnificent sea views, both of the two king-size bedrooms on this level provide a haven of serenity to retreat to; crisp, white linens ensure a peaceful rest. If you still have plenty of energy left, head upstairs to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Boasting breathtaking views along the coast stretching as far as Exmouth, Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coastline all through an abundance of picture windows, this wonderfully social space not only embraces the beauty of your surrounding scenery but also features plenty of homely touches, including a wood burner, contemporary country cottage-style décor, and a sophisticated colour palette. Off the kitchen, you’ll find a cosy conservatory space, perfect for storing beach equipment. You’ll also find an en-suite king-size bedroom that features an additional bunk bed (suitable for children under 12 only) and a stylish family shower room on this level.

Catch some stunning sunsets and listen to the sounds of the sea as you enjoy a glass of something chilled on the beautiful balcony accessed from the first floor. The enclosed garden with a steep lawn and paved area is perfect for children to let off some steam before bedtime. Please note that even though the garden is enclosed, it is advised to keep dogs and children under supervision. There is private parking for three cars at the property.

Great location, lovely property, beds are very low so bear that in mind when booking. Loads of storage. Upstairs double is ensuite with a set of bunk beds, there's a shower/toilet off the landing also. The downstairs bedrooms are double, very large, again beds are low. One shower room you go through to get to the utility room. Didn't use the log Read moreburner but it looked nice. Seating for 4 adults in the back garden, be mindful that due to the areas hilly nature this property is on a hill (with magnificent views over the bay) and the gardens reflect this. Thee Smugglers Inn is just up the road and do lovely food, majority of public toilets in the area are payable by card and dont accept cash, most parking is payable by the Ringo app so worth downloading if you dont have it already as the machines don't always accept cash. Shoreline is a very well-equipped, super-comfortable house with amazing views in a quiet residential part of Teignmouth, high up a hill. Being able to walk into town via the path and through Mules Park was lovely too, despite the endless rain! The wood burning stove took a bit of experimentation but fabulous to have a cosy fire. The house is huge wRead moreith so much space but the heating was perfect and hot water plentiful. We particularly liked the lighting options - full on or just low-key dimmed with lamps. There was a welcome cleaning pack with a sponge and cloth, 3 dishwasher tablets and a mini bottle of washing up liquid. There were bin bags provided and a loo roll in each bathroom but everything else you will need to bring yourself, including salt and pepper, kitchen roll etc. Overall, this was a fabulous house with lots of space plus a large (sloping) garden, parking and stunning views. What a amazing place the view is absolutely breathtaking. The house is very spacious and comfortable and appliances are all very up to date and modern. We chose this cottage for the fantastic view and it did not disappoint. The location was excellent, with easy access to essential shopping in Teignmouth, as well as to other towns and places of interest in the area. We were less impressed with the assistance we needed from the agents/maintenance company. We arrived on a Saturday and found the inRead morestructions for the key safe were wrong and there was no information folder, plus faults, eg light bulbs not working, which had not been reported by the previous renters. Although the agents say they are open at the weekend, there was no substantive help forthcoming until Monday, so we had to muddle through until then. A couple of issues were attended to, but a couple remained outstanding for the remainder of our ten day stay. After our return we were contacted by the very helpful owner, who was concerned at our experience. He welcomes feedback and is eager to ensure future renters do not experience the same problems. We had a lovely stay at Shoreline. The view of the sea from all bedrooms and the lounge is fantastic. The location was very quiet - in bed at night you could hear the waves breaking, which was lovely. The property is in a good location for exploring the area. There is plenty of space in the house. There's is also plenty of storage space for clothes etc in the bedrooms. The house was nicely decorated and seemed clean and tidy. The garden at the back is secure, which is really helpful if you have dogs or small children, although it is quite steep. We, and our friends who stayed with us, enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Hide

Lovely views, spacious and comfortable. Good water pressure, lots of storage and parking. Brilliant host and excellent neighbours. Dog owners must pick up after their animals in the garden! No excuses as it spoils it for others. The balcony was great for watching the sunset and having a cup of tea whilst reading a book. Our youngest said she wantRead moreed to come back before we had left the driveway! She is very hard to please so the house was obviously up to her high standards. Hide
