For a memorable stay within the ancient walls of Ludlow Castle, this luxury two-bedroom apartment is a truly special spot for a restorative break. It’s part of Castle House, a grand 19th-century mansion that reached its final form in 1904. This first-floor hideaway boasts sweeping views over the Shropshire countryside and across the castle grounds. Right on your doorstep, the castle hosts a vibrant calendar of events from April to November and has its own café, restaurant and gift shop. Just 300 metres away is Ludlow’s bustling market where you can pick up local produce. For substantial treks, join the Mortimer Trail (2 miles) which stretches all the way to Kington 20 miles away. The Shropshire Hills Natural Landscape (10 miles) is also your playground for rural exploration – the circular 6.5-mile ramble from Craven Arms up to Flounders’ Folly is a must-see if you love a good view!

Renovated in 2024, it today combines contemporary touches with characterful features and bags of natural light. The dwelling, accessed via an internal staircase, sits on the first floor with six additional steps inside. The views are to die for, stretching over the castle grounds and towards the Whitcliffe beauty spot. On arrival, step into the dual-aspect living and dining area, a bright and stylish space with a Smart TV and a charming feature fireplace (decorative only). The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped for relaxed meals at home. There are two bedrooms – a flexible super-king zip-and-link, and a twin. Both bedrooms also have decorative feature fireplaces. For a unique experience, make sure you take a bath in the the master bathroom with walk in shower, tucked inside the historic Beacon Tower. There’s also a second handy bathroom room for other guests to use if you get a little too comfortable in the freestanding bathtub.

While there’s no outside space at the property, you’ll have plenty of pretty areas to explore nearby, including the castle grounds (during opening hours) and the River Teme which runs past the castle. Parking is available for one car.
