This charming, thatched barn conversion nestled on a working Devon farm offers a wonderfully cosy retreat in the heart of the South Hams, perfect for families and groups of friends craving an escape to the countryside. This scenic countryside spot is situated just a mile outside of the idyllic village of Malborough in the heart of South Devon’s National Landscape, home to some wonderful local pubs, farm shops and a playground with tennis courts. Keen walkers can join the footpath from the doorstep, which meanders down to the popular village of Hope Cove, 2 miles away, which comprises two secluded sandy beaches, perfect for an afternoon’s sunbathing, a quiet paddle or digging around the rock pools. Jump aboard an estuary cruise from nearby Salcombe, 3.5 miles away, to enjoy panoramic coastal views and glimpses of a variety of birdlife and some friendly seals.

The characterful reverse-level layout of this rural retreat maximises stunning countryside views, with the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner on the first floor serving as the perfect spot to sit back and embrace the beautiful local scenery through the large picture windows. Combining rustic features reminiscent of days gone by, including a wood-burner-effect gas fire, exposed beams, and a high vaulted ceiling, with sumptuous, homely touches, this wonderfully social space boasts a truly peaceful ambience that invites the whole family to unwind. Sharing the same charm and character as the first floor, the four bedrooms downstairs provide a haven of tranquillity to retreat to after a busy day’s adventure. There is a master super king-size with en suite shower room, a double room, one twin, and one double bunk bedroom (single over double) to choose from. The contemporary family bathroom and shower room have everything you need to feel refreshed.

Make the most of the fresh countryside air and the soothing sounds of the surrounding working farm by dining alfresco on the paved patio before stargazing in the clear, dark skies. Children must be supervised, and dogs kept on leads outside due to the working farm. There is private parking for three cars at the property.

A lovely building albeit very tired. We had very little heating and were cold the entire stay despite having being supplied with 2 electric heaters that barely worked. No welcome pack supplied

We really enjoyed a relaxing family weekend at the barn, which was very comfortable and homely. Great location & so peaceful as well as being close to other beautiful local attractions - Salcombe, Hope Cove, Bolt Head & Tail cliff walks & Bantham beach. Hannah was very helpful, thank you.

Broadmoor Farm is ideally situated in the countryside for a relaxing stay or to visit the local beaches and towns in that locality. It is attached to a small working farm with its range of free range animals which kept our great granddaughter intrigued by their antics as piglets mixed with goats, hens and Hereford cattle..
