There are numerous walking routes to explore while using the apartment as your base. These trails cater to all fitness levels, ranging from leisurely lakeside strolls to more strenuous hikes and climbs. From the apartment, you can easily walk across National Trust land to reach Orrest Head, Windermere’s most renowned viewpoint, offering breathtaking vistas of the lake and The Langdales. The lively town of Windermere is just over 1 mile away, where you can enjoy a variety of cafés, pubs, and restaurants or browse the local shops. Alternatively, if you prefer cycling, there is secure bike storage for guests on site.

After heading up the stairs to this first floor apartment, the interior hallway leads you into the heart of this elegant home-from-home with an open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen, you will find this perfect for socialising together with friends or family. The kitchen is amply equipped with high end Neff appliances, making a haven for those that like to cook up a feast for the whole group. Both the lounge and dining area boast stunning views through the original hall windows, giving another nod to this country house’s opulence. Opposite the lounge is the first of the bathrooms, where you can enjoy a good soak in some bubbles or take a shower before your day ahead. This property is very well appointed and maintained, and it is well positioned in the centre of the south lake district. We had a very comfortable stay and there was lots to do and see within the immediate locality. Lovely apartment, very well equipped, great location and grounds. No outdoor seating and some noisy building work going on during our stay.
