A really great spacious cottage in a quiet rural location. The only sound being the stream rushing under the bridge along the road. It is ideal for access to Oban (30 miles each way) and the west coast or just sitting relaxing and enjoying the view. The cottage is well appointed with large comfortable rooms. The master bedroom and en-suite were hRead moreuge with plenty of storage space although only a few hangers. The upper bedroom is reached via a spiral staircase from the living room. This room would be great for older children and teenagers as it also has its own settee and TV. The stairs might be challenging for any older guests who might be less mobile. The quiet location does mean that many popular west coast attractions involve some lengthy drives. We spent a day on the Jacobite Express leaving from Fort William (65 miles away) but this was at the limit of the range that we felt comfortable for a day trip. But there is much to be seen in the local area. A 10 minute walk along the local lanes provides a fantastic view across Loch Awe to Ben Cruachan and the Cruachan Dam high on the mountainside. Even closer, the bird life in the garden area was interesting so don't forget to take binoculars. We saw a buzzard leaving a tree right behind the cottage to swoop down on some unfortunate prey in the field below. Hide
