A stylish, contemporary, Lancashire cottage, this delightful retreat is set right by the vibrant canal. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom escape, which is 9.5 miles from Lancaster, enjoys views out over the water from both inside and out. Perfect for couples or a small family, especially if they have a pet in tow, the two-storey hideaway is in a great location for walks beside the Lancashire Canal and for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District national parks. From the cottage, venture 6 miles to the beautiful, sandy stretches of Silverdale Beach or 10 miles to explore the National Trust’s handsome Sizergh Castle, with its beautiful gardens and parkland estate. Plan a day out to Windermere, 21 miles away in the Lake District. Book tickets for a boat cruise or board a steam train at Lakeside so you can soak up the scenery from the water or along the shores.

Let yourselves in to find modern, light-filled accommodation that has been designed with its marina side position in mind. Leave your walking boots in the hall, where there is access to a WC, and wander on to emerge in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With floor-to-ceiling glass across the end that pulls the canal views right inside, this room opens up to your covered patio.
