Ideally placed for touring the Jurassic Coast, Winfrith Newburgh is well serviced with local amenities and is within 5 miles of both Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. The village is 10 miles east of the county town, Dorchester, or you could visit historic Wareham 8 miles to the west. Here you can walk within the old walls or enjoy lunch beside the river. Those looking for a family-friendly day out can visit the Sea Life centre in Weymouth or Swannery in Abbotsbury. Corfe Castle is also well worth a visit too and is home to castle ruins cared for by the National Trust. You can often find steam trains running between here and the seaside town of Swanage, and all these attractions are within a 20-mile radius.

From the parking area, you can enter this charming, detached holiday home from the rear garden and enter the boot room. This is the ideal space to leave muddy footwear and coats. Next is the lovely kitchen/diner. This spacious and sociable room has an electric AGA as well as an electric oven and hob. There is also a microwave, American-style fridge/freezer and dishwasher. You can enjoy leisurely meals at the table just opposite or take your coffee into the beautiful conservatory, which has a grapevine weaving across the ceiling. Next to the kitchen is a useful utility room with WC, washing machine and tumble dryer. A hallway leads from here to the play room area for younger guests filled with toys, books and a smart TV. Adjacent to this room is a cosy ground floor single bedroom that can be used for younger or older guests as there is a useful shower room located opposite. Heading back into the centre of the house is a cosy snug area with football table, complete with a wood burner and a door to the inviting lounge, which has a Smart TV and another wood burner. Heading upstairs from the snug takes you to the first floor. At the top of the stairs is a bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC, and four bedrooms. There are two king-size bedrooms, a cosy bunk room suitable for under 16's, and a twin. At the end of the landing is one of the stylish king-size bedrooms with Juliet balcony and en-suite bathroom, complete with freestanding bath, separate shower and WC. Doors from the dining area, lounge, conservatory and boot room lead into the large garden areas.

Outside there is a patio with a fantastic outdoor kitchen, including a gas BBQ and wood wood-fired pizza oven, table and chairs for dining, as well as relaxed seating including sun loungers and a sofa. Younger guests are well catered for with a rustic play area complete with a tree house, climbing wall, mud kitchen, swing, slide, and sunken trampoline. To the side of the property is the games room where all ages can play and have fun on the air hockey table or table tennis, this located in a gated parking area with space for three cars and an electric vehicle charging point.

  • 5 bedrooms – 2 king-size, 1 twin, 1 bunk room, 1 single (ground floor) -  Please note: bunk room has restricted headroom, suitable for under 16's
  • 3 bathrooms - 1 bath with shower over and WC, 1 ground floor shower room, 1 en-suite bathroom with freestanding bath, separate shower and WC

Well situated for visiting places of interest. Local pub comfortably within walking distance (although pretty dark walk in December). Convenient local shop for your basics. This was our first Christmas away and has encouraged us to do it more often.
