Just 1 mile away lies the magnificent Derwentwater, around which a scenic 8-mile walk can be enjoyed. Or, for a more leisurely experience, hop on the Keswick Launch which stops at the seven landing stages around the lake, allowing you to visit the likes of Fawe Park, Derwent Island and Lodore Falls. With so much to see and do in the local area, visit the mysterious Castlerigg Stone Circle 2 miles above the town, head underground at Honister Slate Mine, 9 miles away, or don your hiking boots to take on nearby Skiddaw, just 5 miles away.

Tastefully presented in soft tones with carefully chosen furniture and decorative artwork, this two-bedroom property is a home from home for couples or families. Cook up a storm in the spacious kitchen/diner, which is equipped with everything you could need including an electric oven with a gas hob, fridge, washing machine and microwave, plus a good-sized dining table. Accessed by stone steps, this is a wonderful suntrap in the evenings, perfect for an al fresco drink as the sun goes down (please note: there is a significant difference of level in the garden and young children should not be left unsupervised). Nice little cottage, equipped with everything you could need, and cosy if you lit the gas fire. Parking space a bonus. Steep stairs and a step down and up from the bedroom to the bathroom, so not great if you had mobility issues.

Great location, car parking, central heating and gas fire. The property feels somewhat dated, compared to all the other properties we have stayed at in Keswick and is in need of a good update, especially the soft furnishings and bathroom. Perfect base for the town and surrounding fells.

Stairs steep and creaky. Been 3 times over the years and very little improvements. Parking very good and a bonus. Position in town excellent. Recommend for younger people.

Excellent cottage in the centre of Keswick, with parking (a must for Keswick). Walkable to lake and shops and a good base for visiting the Lake District in general. Well equipped cottage. Stairs are quite steep, but good handrail. Lovely bedrooms. Has 'shared' garden and place to hang washing, which is great. We ate outside in the evenings using thRead moree table and chairs that were on the lawn for this cottage. History of the row of cottages was fascinating. Hide

Cottage is comfortable albeit a bit tired in places; in need of some furniture replacement downstairs. Location superb, especially with private parking. Easy to access the town, the lake and river, the Fox Tap brewery which is opposite, across the small carpark. Loved Keswick and were very lucky with the weather.

Beautiful cosy cottage , in an excellent location and the added bonus of parking. It was one of the best equipped holiday rentals we have ever had. I would like to say a big thank you to the owners as was a pleasure to stay there .

A few minor issues, but sally's cottages were wonderful in sorting thing out. Would come again, but in summer months as we found the cottage a little draughty this week.

Carolyn's Cottage is in a great location for all that Keswick has to offer. It's very cosy and comfortable for 3 people and has the added benefit of off-street parking. We've stayed several times and would probably return again if the owners replaced the double bed with a king size!

Lovely property, very well equipped for self catering and the private parking space is a real bonus. Great walking from the door, our car never moved all week. We did Latrigg, Skiddaw, Cat Bells, Walla crag and Ashness Bridge, and the railway path on a wet day. Plenty of other walks available from the cottage, around Derwent water, Dodd and many moRead morere. Hide
