Or alight at Lingholm to view the walled garden that inspired Beatrix Potter’s Mr McGregor’s garden before grabbing a bite to eat at the cafe. Beyond the lake, there is plenty to see and do including taking an underground tour at Honister Slate Mine or discovering ancient history at the mysterious Castlerigg Stone Circle.
