‘a visit to the National Trusts’ Ogwen Cottage is a must. Located in stunning spot between two mountain ranges alongside Llyn Ogwen, the scenery is magnificent! Take a walk up to Wales’ first National Nature Reserve at Cwm Idwal, a relatively easy hike, and enjoy the surroundings’ from Jacky, our property manager

The Cottage: has lovely owners who live just up the road and are on hand for a wealth of local information. It boasts a hot tub with fabulous mountain views and the property benefits from a ground floor double bedroom with shower cubicle, and adjacent cloakroom so ideal for less able family members. Heating throughout is by underfloor heating using a ground source heat pump and additional solar panels.

The Living Dining Room: this open plan room has leather style sofas, a flat screen TV with a basic Sky package/DVD and WiFi, dining table and chairs. The beautiful Welsh slate floor tiles were originally intended for Cardiff Millennium Centre!

The Conservatory:  joins on to the living dining room and provides a comfortable area to relax and enjoy the stunning views of Snowdonia. Furnished with simple conservatory furniture.

The Kitchen: is a fitted kitchen and has a washing machine, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, microwave and electric hob and oven.

There are three bedrooms, one on the ground floor, the other two reached from the entrance hall via a hand crafted wooden staircase to the second floor.

Bedroom 1: is on the ground floor and has a double bed. There is a convenient shower cubicle in the room and a cloakroom with WC and basin in an adjacent room. This room is ideal for less able guests but equally suitable for any family member.

Bedroom 2: is a spacious double leading from the light and airy landing. The views from this room are truly stunning and it has a smart ensuite shower room with WC and basin.

Bedroom 3: is a triple with three full sized single beds.

Outside: is a lawned area and patio with table and chairs, a 7 seater hot tub just outside the conservatory also an open shed suitable for bike storage. Plenty of private parking available.

The superb Lon Las cycleway is about 500m away from the property and runs right down from the stunning Ogwen valley to Bangor through mountains, past rivers and through the historic slate quarries, not to be missed by bike or on foot. The river Ogwen has many pools suitable for swimming should the weather be kind, or the guests be brave. Then of course there is the world-famous Zip World Velocity zip wire, just a short walk from your front door. For more relaxing activities the National Trust's Penrhyn Castle is around 3 miles away and the city of Bangor has a leisure centre and popular new arts centre called Pontio, and a great cafe tucked away in the main town called Blue Sky where you can cosy up in front of the log burner and enjoy fantastic homemade local produce.

The location is great, for visiting loads of different places in north Wales & Anglesey. The property has great views, a good hot tub and is a good size, but the decor is a bit tired.

The cottage is lovely, with fantastic views out the back. Layout us well thought through with the downstairs bedroom, stairs and 1st floor bedrooms separate to the kitchen and living areas. Plenty of space and we'll equipped. Some family games and some dvds for evening entertainment if you wanted it. A welcome back of welsh baked goods, tea coffRead moreee and milk was very much appreciated after our long journey. The cottage was ideally situated for exploring the area around Mount Snowdon. A local Tesco express in the village was handy for essentials, with larger supermarket choices in Bangor. For the nature lovers there was plenty of bird life to watch and we were frequently serenaded by a pair of Tawny Owls in the early evenings. We spent many an hour watching the light change over the mountains, it was very beautiful. Hide

Appreciated the welcome pack, thank you. The views and location of the property are the strong points. It is ideal for visiting Anglesey, Snowdonia and N. Wales coast. The hot tub was enjoyed by all. We made good use of the BBQ as the weather was very kind to us. Love visiting Wales and will no doubt return to another region in the future.

Absolutely loved it here. Views were stunning, many evenings spent watching the sun go down over the mountains in conservatory. Very well laid out, there were 7 of us staying and we could all find space to ourselves if required. The lady that owns the house is just lovely. Would highly recommend this place.
