Very convenient for the many facilities in Ambleside. Clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Lovely sunny patio area perfect for drinks with the sunset, although the road was noisy at times. Great cottage if you want to be based in a town.

Low Fold Barn is a top class property in a fantastic location for visiting Ambleside, and beyond, with plenty of good walks from the doorstep (we clocked up 40+ miles during our week without moving our cars once). The kitchen is virtually brand new and very well equipped with everything you need for a "home from home" plus a few extras, such as duRead moreal drawer Ninja air fryer and Nespresso machine (Vertuo pods rather than generic, original style - so bring your own supply of pods as the ones supplied will run out with no means to replace locally). Bedrooms were all very comfortable and, despite proximity to road, quiet with comfortable beds and plenty of wardrobe space. The bathrooms were all spotless and the showers some of the best, i.e. hot with good pressure, we have had in houses/hotels anywhere. We ate out most nights during our stay and found somewhere different in Ambleside each night - there is so much variety to choose from - some we booked some we didn't but, as a party of 6, had it been later in the season, we would probably need to. Parking is good for a couple of medium sized cars (e.g Volvo XC40) but if you have anything much bigger you may struggle to park without encroaching onto the driveway which is shared with the local mountain rescue next-door. All in a fabulous week and one we are all hoping to repeat - so much so we have already booked a similar week for next year. Hide

Fantastic property, very warm and comfortable and well equipped. Excellent location for walking. Brand new kitchen with Nespresso coffee machine and Ninja AirFryer, which we really appreciated. We also made use of the free access to the local swimming pool which was fab. I could see how the traffic noise would be a challenge in summer, but absoluteRead morely fine in the colder months, you get used to it. Hide

very well equipped cottage particularly the kitchen. plenty of space yet the cottage was very cosy. The heating system works really well. Parking was a bonus but could be a little awkward with a larger vehicle

A really well furnished and equipped cottage. Ambleside is a great location with good facilities. The weather was great . We unfortunately found the road noise and Garden Centre activities detracted from our enjoyment.

The property was amazing, great location, short walk to the shops and restaurants. Spotlessly clean and great thought and care taken to make the guests feel welcome. Our dog really appreciated the ball and treats. We will hopefully be back soon.

Fantastic cottage in fantastic location. We had an amazing special birthday celebration there. Two nice outside patios. Only thing that's not so obvious on website is that it's on the main road from Bowness on Windermere coming into and out of Ambleside. We weren't too aware of it but one of us used earplugs in bed.

The road noise is a massive downer. Its a good job that we wasnt there in the summer when road noise would be louder.. Its a shame that the location doesnt mention the road until you have booked. Some honesty regarding the location close to the road should be mentioned.

We stayed at Lowfold Barn for a long weekend to celebrate my 60th birthday with my siblings. It was extremely comfortable for 7 adults and felt like a home from home. It is very well equipped and in an excellent location. Cant wait to return.

This is the second time I have stayed in this property and again we all had a wonderful stay. The house is great for my family and elderly mum and feels just like home. Only a 5/10 min walk to the lake and 15 to the village. We will continue to return to this property as we love it!
