Located on the brink of the Yorkshire Dales and with the Lake District National Park not far away, this property boasts an unrivalled position for exploring the heart of northern England. The village itself is equipped with plenty of amenities and welcoming local pubs, along with a pretty bridge running over the River Eden. You’ll never be short of stunning walking routes whilst staying in this area. Follow the 182-mile Coast to Coast route, venturing east into the Yorkshire Dales or west into the Lake District. Set off on two wheels or your trusty hiking boots to explore the Eden Valley (approx. 15 miles) or take day trips to the nearby towns of Windermere (31.5 miles) and Kendal (23 miles).

This cosy cottage features traditional style and plenty of original features, the perfect space for three to call home. Inside you’ll first come across a lounge/dining room that’s kept cosy thanks to a wood burner. Throw logs on the fire and bask in the warm glow whilst watching the Smart TV. You’ll also find a dropleaf dining table for enjoying meals together on an evening. Tuck the table and chairs away to extend the space throughout the day. Continue through into a farmhouse-style kitchen with direct access into the garden. This room is equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave and a fridge with freezer compartment for preparing meals throughout your stay. Completing this room is a washing machine, perfect for cleaning muddy walking gear after long walks. Venture upstairs to find two charming bedrooms with sturdy wooden furniture and romantic touches. The king-size bedroom comes first, followed by a cosy single bedroom with a bookworm’s perfect window seat. Finally, a family bathroom with WC and shower completes the offerings of this cottage.

Step outside to find a pretty garden with a bistro dining set for your use. Early morning coffee or late night drinks are bound to be enjoyed in this space when weather allows. The patio is complete with a pretty pond and handy storage hut for keeping your bikes secure.

While a comfortable cottage it would greatly benefit from an update in the living area, and kitchen needs a small fridge freezer and possibly an air fryer?

Perfectly located for visiting NY Dales , Lake District, minutes from all amenities, with plenty of choice of eating establishments. The cottage was in pristine condition, with a lovely enclosed garden for visitors with a pet. Only downside , was very steep stairs, to bedrooms and toilets which could prove an issue for some

Great location, warm cosy cottage, very comfy bed, lovely little enclosed walled garden that is a sun trap. Plenty of good walks many from the doorstep, friendly local people, good dog friendly pubs and cafes (although some cafes were not dog friendly). Good options of eating out, we particularly liked the Indian restaurant and The Black Bull at NaRead moreteby. Hide

Amazing little cottage with enclosed back garden. It was wonderful for our dog. Have visited Kirkby Stephen twice before ( the accommodation was modern and lovely but no outdoor area - in previous place ) so would definitely return to the cottage in Nateby Rd again because of its location and the back yard.

Lovely cosy cottage a couple of minutes walk to shops, cafes, pubs. Neighbours were really friendly giving us great advice on the local area as well as good dog walks. Great location with easy access to both Lake District and Yorkshire. Cottage has a double bedroom with king size bed and a single room, both had ample space. Expect steep wooden staiRead morers up to the rooms and bathroom. We parked the car every day, with no problem, just metres from the front door We had a lovely holiday! Hide
