We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is clean, quiet and less than half a mile walk over public footpaths to Hawkshead village. Everything in the cottage worked, and there's good wi-fi plus a nice selection of board games. DVD's, etc, . Some reviews have mentioned the shower is small, but this is a cottage and we managed OK.

The cottage was perfect. I visited with my wife and our dog. The cottage has everything you need and was spotlessly clean. It is accessed down a quite lane that only leads to 4 other properties A public footpath that takes you into Hawkshead , as well as starting numerous other walks runs in a field next to the cottage. We had a lovely time staying at Keen Ground Cottage. Great rural location just outside Hawkshead village. We took the short walk (under 10 minutes) across the fields for pubs and shops a few times. The cottage is very comfortable and cosy, with a nice log burner which we utilised most nights. We were welcomed with a selection of local produce - teaRead more, biscuits, twills - which was most welcome. We visit the Lakes 1-2 weeks each year and this is the best cottage for two adults and a dog. Hide
