Generally well equipped and comfortable cottage , well positioned for touring and with three good Pubs/Restaurants nearby , comfortable beds and lounge and overall we were very pleased. Smashing accommodation, has pretty much all you need for a stay away from home at a very reasonable price. Good as a base for exploring, sadly little in immediate vicinity aside from a pub with limited opening hours and doesnt serve food so eating out means a drive. Overall very good experience and would recommend.

Good value stay in nice basic lodge, clean and short distance from some amazing beaches Caution to anyone easily bothered by loud noises the train is very loud and goes on into the night, there is also nothing at all in the village in the way of shops so come with supplies

The property is light & modern, however it was far too close to the main train line to feel relaxing. Trains thundered past the back of the property interrupting conversations & sleep. The location is ideal for visiting so many amazing local beaches & close to the A1 to go further a field. The local pub is traditional & welcoming. There is a bus seRead morervice through the village but sadly no other shops. The view from the front window across the field is lovely. Hide

We felt that there was a general feeling of parsimony. Only one spare toilet roll for a 4 berth property for a week, one spare bin liner and the expectation that glass recycling was done by the occupiers. The bin calendar was for 2024. The portable appliance testing was 8 months out of date. The 'welcome pack' was a few packets of biscuits, milk saRead morechets and sugar sachets. Other cottages that we have stayed at were more generous and we felt that this would have made a much better impression. Hide

The location is great and the accommodation is fine. Dogs do need to be taken outside on lead to use the garden area, as there's no access directly to the garden from the accommodation. This isn't made clear in the description and is a bit of a pain. Our stay was warm and there was plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable and we had almost everRead moreything we needed (remember to take matches and washing up things). We'd definitely visit the area again. Hide

We really enjoyed our holiday here. Its a lovely, well equipped cottage and was very clean. Location is very handy, easy access to Low Newton-by-the-sea and Embleton. The negative for us were there is no direct access to enclosed garden. It was a bit of pain to get our elderly, blind dog to the garden in the middle of the night when she needed a weRead moree! Lovely cottage with all you need for a weeks holiday Excellent location But Very close to railway line-we also live next to the east coast main line but our house is not so close. Also not near a level crossing so the warning bell took a bit to get used to.
