Arrive at Windermere and hop on a cruise or treat little ones to a day out at the Lake Aquarium (3 miles). Just 6.5 miles from your door lies the heart of Ulverston, a bustling market town with quaint cobbled streets and lots to explore.

Head inside and find yourself in the open-plan living space where the kitchen, lounge and diner fit together perfectly. Get comfortable on the inviting sofa which sits by the wood burner and in front of the TV, great for cosy evenings in. After cooking up a storm in the spacious, stylish kitchen with an electric oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher, plate up at the dining table. Whilst the breakfast bar is great for gathering at with a cup of tea during the day, the table seats all guests so you can enjoy time together whilst you eat. Find a washer/dryer in the handy utility room where you can leave muddy boots after adventures. Completing the ground floor is the contemporary family bathroom with WC, luxurious free-standing bath and separate shower, and the separate WC. Upstairs, three bedrooms await weary heads. Two of the rooms are king-size with lovely interior and tranquil tones, whilst the final bedroom is a single with an extra-long bed at 6’6”.

Start your day with a tea or coffee outside and head into the enclosed, front garden with a bench, or the rear garden with pair of patios. The patios are set over different levels so take care when moving between. Take a minute to lap up the fresh air and sit on the furniture with a cold drink in the evenings. Should you fancy a competitive evening, venture inside the games barn with table tennis table and dartboard. This is a great space to store bikes and outdoor gear too. There is off-road parking for two cars on the driveway. Further on-street parking is available on the road in front of the cottage.

We had a wonderful stay at this property and would happily recommend it. The location in the South Lakes is excellent, making it easy to explore both the eastern and western areas, as well as enjoy nearby walks. The cottage itself is very comfortable with a warm, homely feel. Its well equipped throughout, with a great kitchen, a cosy living room, Read moreand a pleasant dining area. The bedrooms were comfortable, and we particularly appreciated the added convenience of the lobby and second toilet. We also enjoyed a lovely meal at the local pub, The Anglers Arms. The staff were friendly and helpful, though it is quite a busy spot with both locals and visitors, so booking ahead is definitely recommended. Hide

A beautiful little house in the south Lakes area. We loved the decor and the added books and games. We also found it very comfortable and a good base to explore from especially being so close to the steam train, motor museum and Lakeside attractions at the southern point of Windermere.

A beautiful and cosy cottage. A real home from home. We had a car so could drive north to get to Windermere and Grasmere and other lakes. Take salt, pepper, tea bags and milk etc as nothing there in that sense. Underfloor heating was a little temperamental (but house heated well from radiators) and water didnt run very hot from shower or bath.
