With huge horizons and a vast open expanse of pristine saltmarsh, Stiffkey is a walker’s and nature lover’s paradise with a footpath that leads from the village down to the coast, with some truly fabulous and unique walks alongside the sea. Wells-next-the-Sea is just 4 miles away where you can enjoy a range of shops and eateries, or perhaps take a boat trip around the close by Blakeney Point to see the resident seals and their pups. Cley-next-the-Sea with its fantastic nature reserves and marshes is a must-visit and is just 5 miles away. A little further afield is the traditional seaside resort of Cromer offering a wonderful day out and is just 17 miles away.

After opening the gate to the driveway and parking your car securely on the grounds of the cottage, you enter through the front door and arrive in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which has underfloor heating throughout. You immediately get the feel that this lovely cottage has been recently renovated with a social aspect in mind and with a high-end finish. To the left is the kitchen which has everything you need for a real home-away-from-home feel with an electric microwave oven and induction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine which to help wash the sand out of your clothes after coastal walks. For a less formal setting and perhaps for a quick snack or breakfast, there is an island with two stools. Once the chef amongst you has lovingly prepared dinner for the group, then serve up at the dining table which has enough seating for up to six guests. The lounge, complete with bifold doors, has two large, comfortable sofas providing enough space for all guests to cosy up around the TV whilst you catch up with your favourite show. Completing the ground-floor accommodation is a shower room and WC. Upstairs, to the first floor, you have a choice of three bedrooms that share a first-floor family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. The master bedroom is a king-size bed, bedroom two is a double bed and, finally, bedroom three is a single. Each bedroom comes with storage space for your clothes and personal items. Please note there are some low ceiling heights in the upstairs eaves of property.

Draw open the bifold doors in the lounge which leads to your enclosed patio area to the rear of the property – providing a place to indulge in a morning coffee or afternoon fizz. There’s a table and six rattan chairs which is also a great spot to enjoy some al fresco dining of an evening. To the front of the property, you have plenty of private off-road parking for up to two cars.

On arrival at the cottage there was,a problem with key and we were unable to get in. Had to call customer services and someone was sent to repair the lock after 30 mins of sitting in our car. Sofas either need a deep clean or replacing as were stained and dirty and very uncomfortable. Care and attention needed throughout. We had 5 hangars betweenRead more 4 of us. The walls are marked and scuffed, stair carpet frayed and skirting boards and under the beds and sofas very dusty/ dirty. Floor could do with being washed and not just swept. Cottage in a lovely location and great for walks Hide

We had an absolutely lovely stay with our baby and dog. There was a baby chair and cot provided and we had everything we needed for our stay. There was a cottage could do with a lick of paint as there were a few signs of wear but it was simple and clean and had everything we needed. A tea and coffee pack was kindly provided on arrival with a few NoRead morerfolk gifts too which was a lovely touch. It is a bit smaller than the photos make out but was a good size for our small family. It would be quite a squeeze with 4 adults and 2 children (to fill the bedrooms). A shame there was no BBQ but we understood it may be because were very close to neighbours with a small patio garden and the smoke could be a problem there. Stiffkey stores is a short walk down the road for delicious coffee and cake and the village pub also provided great food. Only 10-15 mins from Wells on the sea / Blakeney which was perfect with our baby for a few beach days/ crabbing! Wed like to also try the light railway down the road when our baby is older so thats close for children too. Overall wed give it a 4/5. Thanks so much! Hide

Rose Cottage is in a wonderful location, especially for walkers and birdwatchers. We agree with previous reviews that the sofas are extremely uncomfortable and need replacing. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay in this delightful part of Norfolk.

A lovely well equipped cottage, ideally located for walking on the Norfolk coastal path. We had a problem with the heating that was rectified on the second day. As a previous visitor noted, the sofas aren't the most comfortable, but that didn't spoil our stay.

The cottage is fairly well presented but there was a definite lack of detail with regard to cleaning. The floors needed a more thorough clean with the vacuum cleaner . Lots of bits left around the bed and skirting boards, under beds & cupboards. We had to use all three bedrooms as our friends could not negotiate getting in and out of bed in the nigRead moreht in the 2nd bedroom without great difficulty for the person on the wall side. The two sofas in the lounge are becoming rather uncomfortable. Hide

An ideallly situated holiday let - great for exploring the surrounding area. We visited in September and enjoyed a comfortable stay in this spacious and well equipped cottage. The outside area to the rear is completely dog-secure and gave us the opportunity to relax and dine al-fresco with our whippet. We would definitely visit again.

Lovely cottage in the beautiful location of Stiffkey. Only a 10 minute walk to the coastal marshes. Lovely footpaths through the fields. 5 minutes walk to the local pub and 10 mins to the local store selling bakery items and coffee. The cottage is comfortable and clean with a nice patio area.

Nice, comfortable cottage with a welcome pack. Beware if you're expecting a half mile walk to the beach - that only gets you to the edge of the Saltmarsh, which is an amazing place, but if you had children, it is considerably further to the beach. Beautiful part of the country - well worth a visit.
