We stayed at Stybarrow Fold with our three adult children and their wives/husbands for four nights in May. It is a beautiful house - everyone had a large bedroom and the reception rooms are fantastic. We played board games, watched a film together, and just relaxed together - wonderful. There is a really good footpath from across the road into WindRead moreermere - takes 20 minutes - so it's a fabulous location. Hide

Lovely house, with amazing views. Cosy and warm and great for all ages. We were a party of 9 with three generations, with two dogs, ranging from 2 years upwards. Layout was perfect as each family group had their own level and bathroom. Highly recommend. Garden is not enclosed so dogs had to be on leads and we had to barricade one side to contain thRead moree youngest but not a problem for us.Great location for exploring and loved walking to Orrest Head from the house. Easy parking for cars and house felt very private. Not sure if I mentioned the views they are amazing and even all the grandkids would sit and stare at the lakes and mountains. Absolutely stunning views. Loved the different areas to sit in. Travelled as two families so the space was fantastic. Great location for walking to Windermere, away from the main traffic but still easy to walk to centre.

The cottage is in a great location with fantastic views! Everyday we couldn't believe our eyes when we looked out the window. Close enough to the town centre but also very peaceful. Kitchen is well equipped, rooms are very spacious. We did have a few issues with the property but we have given our feedback to the owner so hopefully these issuRead morees are solved for future guests. One thing that we didn't realise when booking is that although we selected that we needed a bedroom downstairs for access reasons the bedroom isn't on the same level as the living room/kitchen it's down another set of stairs so not suitable for those needing an accessible bedroom. We loved the house. The views were spectacular. We had 3 generations and 10 people there and it was roomy for us to gather together or spread around. The kitchen, Aga and fridge freezer were brilliant. A couple of clothes airers would have been helpful. A wonderful cottage in a good situation and did I mention the views?!

The views are amazing and quite made the week for us and just for that we would recommend Sky Barrow Fold. But the house and furniture are looking tired and worn in some places and could do with being updated. A very well-equipped, spacious house in a great location with fantastic views of the lake, and lovely outdoor seating areas. Walkable access to Windermere and easy access to the surrounding areas, we had a great week at Stybarrow fold. We had a lovely stay at Stybarrow Fold. Very spacious and well appointed property that gave my family and myself room to relax. A beautiful place to stay with family and friends, with breathtaking views. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of room for guests both in living area and dining areas and five bedrooms. Parking available for 4-5 cars but will need to park sensibly in order to turn vehicles around. Close to Windermere approx a mile and a half to nearest shops. Amazing house with awesome views of the lake and mountains. The house is very well equipped and very comfortable. A beautiful space to spend time with the family and also enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It offers easy access to many destinations in the lakes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again. Highly recommend it.

Fantastic space and incredible views! The pictures really dont do the views justice. We stayed for a week as a family of 7 adults. The kitchen is really well equipped, and the lounge has lots of games and books, including some helpful books suggesting some great walks. We loved we could walk out into National Trust land for a couple of walks.
