Experience the Lake District’s natural beauty with a stay at this traditional stone property in the sought-after town of Windermere. Within 0.5 miles you’ll have local amenities like shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs. Bowness-on-Windermere (1 mile), right by the water’s edge, has even more dining options, as well as lake cruises and boating trips. Its World of Beatrix Potter Attraction will also be popular with children. Head to the Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre (3 miles), for archery, mini golf and boat tour bookings. Beatrix Potter’s former home (12 miles) is also well worth the trip for literary fans. Keen to lace up your hiking boots? You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to scenic trails, with Wansfell Pike (5 miles), Grasmere (8.5 miles) and Grizedale Forest (13 miles) all fantastic options for planning routes.

On arrival, you’ll climb three steps up to the front door and step into a spacious corridor. The place has been thoughtfully modernised, with wooden accents, a neutral colour scheme and attractive exposed stonework remaining. To the left is a cosy living room with a large bay window, along with plenty of sofa space and a Smart TV for relaxed evenings in. Straight ahead, the staircase leads up to the first floor, while to the right you’ll have a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area. This is an elegant space with a large wooden dining table, glossy units and a handy breakfast bar for perching with morning toast or pre-dinner drinks. A utility room and WC sit usefully just beyond, while a door leads out to the enclosed rear garden and private parking bays. Head up the wooden staircase to discover three en-suite bedrooms – two king-size and a double – each with stylish accents and then up to the second floor with the fourth bedroom that has double bed and an en-suite bathroom.

Outside, the enclosed garden provides a peaceful spot to sit back and soak up your surroundings, making use of the furniture provided. There is private parking for two cars.

Spacious accommodation, plenty of room for 7 adults, 1 baby and 1 dog. There was always plenty of hot water, heating was easy to turn up / down for comfort. Adequately equipped to cook a decent meal. Its a beautiful cottage to stay in with family or friends and a great outdoor space for the dogs It was so lovely arriving and the Xmas decs were all up, it made it feel really homely

Wonderful location, a large old house with good sized rooms but needs some attention to detail on social facilities and comfort as some rooms having no or little heating.

A large and spacious house, well located and comfortable. There are a few bits that could be improved (sharp knives in the kitchen, coat hangers etc.) but would recommend to people who need a big house for a large party of people.

Lovely property and very well presented and looked after. We had a lovely stay. Note there is only one parking space at the rear as no room for neighbours car. But heaps of on road parking. Easy instructions and entry...many thanks Simon

Excellent cottage to stay in, it was in a great location and central to every where. We had a wonderful time touring around the Lake District and it was lovely to come back to Windermere where there are very good bars and restaurants, especially the Tapas Bar and the crafty Baa.

The house offered excellent accommodation in terms of comfort and decor, the added bonus of an en suite shower room in 3 out of the 4 bedrooms was excellent. We really enjoyed the open plan aspect of the kitchen and dining room and spent our evenings in there.
