Start the day with an invigorating walk along the Victorian promenade in the seaside resort of Llanfairfechan before enjoying breakfast in this appealing holiday apartment. Just steps from the beach, the seafront property offers a lovely base for couples exploring this scenic stretch of the North Wales coast, with lovely views of the Isle of Anglesey and set close to the dramatic Snowdonia National Park. The town is backed by the stunning Carneddau Mountains that can be explored via local public foot paths. Those looking to get amongst nature can be up in the mountains within half an hour, whether you’re walking or riding your mountain bike! The Carneddau Mountains are rich in wildlife, including wild ponies who roam in small herds. Those after a less challenging walk can stroll along the flat Cob (coastal path) and explore the nature reserve where you can spot a host of birds and wildlife. This is a great place for dog walking too, providing you keep them on a lead when live stock is grazing or birds are nesting. Further along the coastal path is the village of Abergwyngregyn where you can visit the Aber Falls Distillery, one of four in Wales. Aber Falls, one of Snowdonia National Park’s stunning falls at 120 ft can be accessed from the village. Llanfairfechan beach is a hot spot for various water sports including sailing, paddle boarding, fishing, windsurfing and foiling and is famous for its breath-taking sunsets. There is also a coastal cycle path accessible from Llanfairfechan. If you’re lucky, you might even get to see the northern lights. The village offers shops, eateries and pubs, and is within 8 miles of historic Conwy – one of the UK’s best preserved medieval towns, with cobbled streets and a magnificent castle. From here you can jump aboard sight-seeing cruises and wildlife trips out to Puffin Island. The town is also home to Plas Mawr, said to be the UK’s finest surviving Elizabethan town house. Walking and cycling trails abound, while the world-famous National Trust Bodnant Gardens (12 miles) encompass sweeping lawns, verdant woodlands and glorious blooms. Llanfairfechan is a perfect base for exploring much of North Wales by car or rail.

A walk down the garden path of a large period house brings you to the door of this thoughtfully planned retreat. Step inside, kick off sandy shoes in the hallway and head into the social heart of the apartment – the open-plan lounge/diner. With a bay window that lets sunlight flood in, this space is perfect for unwinding after days of Welsh adventure; sink into the soft seating, flick on the Smart TV and bask in the glow of the crackling wood burner. When stomachs start to rumble, find that the compact but well-appointed kitchen boasts everything needed to cook up romantic feasts, which can be enjoyed at the window-side dining table back in the main living space. At the end of each busy day away, retire to the sumptuous super-king-size bedroom and start the next day with a soak in the well-equipped shower room.

Outside awaits an enclosed courtyard garden with outdoor furniture and a charcoal BBQ, offering the perfect ingredients for al fresco meals or evening tipples together. Guests will also benefit from outside storage space for bikes and paddleboards as well as one on-street parking space.
